Mary M. \u201cMargaret\u201d Stachel, Norman C. Rademacher, Shirley Wright, Eliseo Ornelas, Roland Lee Merignac
\nMary M. \u201cMargaret\u201d Stachel<\/strong>
\nMary M. \u201cMargaret\u201d Stachel, age 81, died April 23, 2014 in St. Johns. She was born on December 8, 1932 in Lansing, MI, the daughter of Seigneur James and Mary Jeanne (Heightchew) St. Pierre. Mary graduated as Salutorian from Resurrection High School in 1950. She married Charles A. Stachel on June 14, 1952 and he preceded her in death on August 29, 2004. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she taught CCD, was a member of the Altar Society, the Finance Committee and served as Eucharistic Minister. Margaret worked at the Carol Ann Shop for many years and was Hostess at the Wheel Inn.
\nSurviving are her children, Ricki (Gary) Burk, Jeanne (Rick) Hudson, Lisa (Mick) Lynch, Mary (Mike) Price and Carrie (Brent) Simon; 11 grandchildren \u2013 Matthew, Melanie, Megan, Tracy, Tricia, Ryan, Rachel, Mary Michele, Charlie, Taryn and Makenzie; 27 great grandchildren; siblings \u2013 Lawrence (Betty) St. Pierre; sisters-in-law; Eileen St. Pierre, Margaret St. Pierre, Martha Whiting, Lois Stachel and Mo Stachel; brothers-in-law \u2013 David Meerman and E. Lee Peterson along with many loving nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, loving husband Charles, beloved grandson Brandon Simon; siblings \u2013 Charles, James and Phyllis St. Pierre; brothers-in-law \u2013 Earl and Walter Stachel, Vic Whiting and Louis Hummel; sisters-in-law \u2013 Jane Hummel, Bernice Peterson and Marjorie Meerman.
\nA Memorial Mass will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 26, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Michael Williams presiding. Memorial visitation Friday, April 25th, 5-8 p.m., with a Vigil Service and Rosary being prayed at 7 p.m., at the Osgood Funeral Home, 104 E. Cass St., St. Johns. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the local Relay For Life or Sparrow Clinton Hospital.

Norman C. Rademacher<\/strong>
\nNorman C. Rademacher, 86 died on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Hazel Findlay Country Manor. Norm was born on June 2, 1927 in Clinton County, MI the son of Joseph and Elizabeth (Knoop) Rademacher. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and worked for himself in Rademacher Construction for 30 years. He married Arlene C. Trierweiler on October 26, 1957 in Pewamo, MI. She preceded him in death on November 18, 2012. Norm enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening, tinkering, bread making and especially his family and grandchildren. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and the V.F.W.
\nHe is survived by daughters, JoAnn (Daniel) Becker of Texas, Kay Rademacher of Mt. Pleasant, SC, and Karen (Larry) Carpenter of Texas; sons, Donald (Drucilla) Rademacher of St. Johns, Eugene Rademacher of Bay City, and Daniel (Susan) Rademacher of Mt. Pleasant, MI 15 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren; brother Isidore (Dorothy) Rademacher of Lansing and Jerome Rademacher of Kentwood and sister-in-law, Loretta (Art) Rademacher of Fowler. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Diane and 8 siblings.
\nMass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Fr. Michael Williams officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Pewamo, MI. The family will receive friends and relatives at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home<\/a> on Tuesday April 22, 2014, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A vigil service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday evening. Memorials may be given to Clinton County Senior Center, St. Joseph Catholic School Fund or the charity of the donor\u2019s choice.<\/p>\n

Shirley Wright<\/strong>
\nShirley (Egleston) Wright, age 83, of St. Johns, MI died Saturday, April 19, 2014. Born July 28, 1930 to Lloyd B. and Lenore C. Egleston, Shirley was a graduate of J.W. Sexton High School in Lansing in the class of June 1948. Her love of music brought her to join the Choir and she sang second lead in two operettas. She also sang in the Sextet which took them to perform in nursing homes and the like.
\nThrough her Mother\u2019s line, she came from James Coon line who was with the First Michigan Sharpshooters, Company E, Grand Army of the Republic. Upon return to Michigan, after being wounded and released in Washington DC, he was one of the 12 soldiers alive when the monument was placed on the grounds of the Capital honoring their sacrifices. It stands there today. Because of the interest in genealogy, she also completed the Egleston genealogy which had previously been completed and made into a bound book dated 1918. This section took 5 years to complete from 1965 to 1970.
\nOn July 9, 1977, Shirley married Gerald N. Wright and became instant step-mother to his six children. Daniel (Kathy) Wright of Harrisburg, SD; Steven W. Wright (Deceased); Rosann Frazier of Lansing, MI; Joseph (Dee) Wright of Albuquerque, NM; Charles E. Wright of Grand Ledge, MI; and Phillip H. (Shirley Spaulding) Wright of Lansing, MI.
\nWhile working for the Department of Natural Resources, Forest Management Division, one of her jobs was answering the Smokey Bear letters that school children sent to him via the DNR. She was instrumental in designing and making Smokey Bear footprint which is still in use today. Shirley was a member of Christ United Church of DeWitt, MI.
\nMemorial Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Osgood Funeral Home<\/a>, 104 E. Cass St., St. Johns, MI 48879 with Pastor Terry Williamson officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Lansing. The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM Saturday, May 3, 2014 at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the charity of donor\u2019s choice in Shirley\u2019s name.<\/p>\n

Eliseo Ornelas<\/strong>
\nEliseo \u201cChum\u201d Ornelas, age 88, of Grand Ledge, MI and formerly of Ovid, MI died Saturday, April 19, 2014. Born August 17, 1925, he was the son of Edward and Maria (Luna) Ornelas. Chum served in the US Army, worked in a factory in the automotive industry, was a member of the UAW #605 and the Grand Ledge Baptist Church.
\nChum is survived by his sons, Gordon Ornelas of Seattle, WA and William Ornelas of San Diego, CA; step-children, Terry (Toni) Ornelas of Elsie, MI and Sheryl (Victor) Carbone of Shadyside, MD; brother, Oscar (Dorothy) Ornelas, sisters; Anita Kiter, Josephine Sheldon, Emma Gordoa, Rosemary Ornelas; 4 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Edward and Alfred Ornelas; and sister, Helen Martinez.
\nFuneral Services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Ovid, 301 S. Main, Ovid, MI 48866 with Pastor Andrew Ford officiating. A military graveside service will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at the Houghton Chapel of the Osgood Funeral Homes, 232 E. Oak St., Ovid. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice of Greater Lansing, 865 S. Cedar St., Mason, MI 48854.

Roland Lee Merignac<\/strong>
\nRoland Lee “Rollie” Merignac, age 79, of Ashley, MI passed away Friday, April 18th, 2014 at Carson City Hospital.
\nA Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Cyril’s Catholic Church, Bannister, MI on Wednesday, April 23rd at 10:00 A.M. Burial will take place at Ford Cemetery.
\nVisitation will be held on Monday, April 21, 2014 and Tuesday, April 22, 2014 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie, MI. A Scripture Service will be held on Tuesday at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
\nRoland was born in Dewitt, Michigan on October 19, 1934, the son of Alfred Joseph and Eva Mae (Brya) Merignac. He graduated from Rodney B. Wilson High School in St. Johns with the class of 1953. On June 30, 1972 he married Donna Ann Kostal at St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Johns, Michigan.
\nRollie worked for Oldsmobile in Lansing for 38 years retiring in 1992. He was a former Gratiot County Commissioner for 14 years. He loved to golf and hunt. He was active with the Red Cross Board, Ashley Lions Club, Commission on Aging and was a member of the K of C in Bannister, Michigan. Rollie was a member of St. Cyril’s Catholic Church, and was the head of the ushers at St. Cyril’s Catholic Church.
\nHe is survived by wife, Donna Merignac of Ashley, MI; 4 daughters, Peggy and Steve Marek of Lansing, MI; Cathy and Art Gallegos of Lansing, MI; Lynette and Eric Brock of Ovid, MI; Ronda and Nathan McAllister of Ashley, MI; 2 sons, Kurt and Tami Mockridge of Senatobia, Mississippi; Joseph and Stacey Merignac of Bellevue, MI; 17 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, sister, Joyce and Larry Crosby of St. Johns, MI; sister in law, Dorothy Merignac of St. Johns, MI. He was predeceased by his parents, Alfred and Eva Merignac, mother and father in law, Aleatha and Charlie Kostal 1 brother, Lawrence Merignac.
\nMemorials may be made to Knights of Columbus, Bannister, Michigan. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes<\/a> Elsie, Michigan.<\/p>\n
