For 35 years the Senior Center has provided a safe place for senior citizens to go to for activities, meals and socialization. Since it\u2019s inception and continuing today, most activities are free or offered for a very low price to individuals aged 55 and over. If you have never been to the Senior Center, now might be the time to check them out.<br \/>\nThe Senior Center will be taking a bus and going to a <strong>Lugnuts Game on Wednesday, May 21<\/strong> (game starts at 10:35 am). A limited number of bus seats and Lugnuts tickets are available for $15. Or, if you would like reduced rate tickets to the game but choose to drive yourself, a few tickets are available for $10. If you are interested in joining the group, or just getting tickets, call Brenda at 989-224-7248 today.<br \/>\nOn <strong>Thursday, May 22<\/strong> the Senior Center will be hosting a Pork Roast Dinner for the 2014 St. Johns Mint Festival. The Mint Festival will be using the proceeds to fund several drawings for $30 each during the 30th Anniversary festival weekend. Tickets for the dinner can be purchased at the Senior Center the night of the dinner between 4:30-6:30 pm.<br \/>\nOn <strong>Thursday, May 29 <\/strong>the center will be celebrating their anniversary with a free Ice Cream Social from 6-8 pm. At the Ice Cream Social the center will honor two men that have passed away in the last several months that have meant so much to the center. Hugh Banninga was very instrumental to the center in its early years and Norm Rademacher was a driving force in the last several years. The center could not have done without both of these men at different times over the last 35 years. To add a little entertainment to the event Bill Brown will be performing from 6:30-7:30 pm.<br \/>\nThen in June the Senior Center will hold a <strong>garage sale. On Thursday, June 19 <\/strong>it will run from 9 am to 5 pm and on Friday, June 20 it will run from 9 am to 3 pm. If you would like to donate anything for the sale, call Darlene at the center at 989-224-4257 if things need to be picked up, or you can drop them off at the center to the attention of Darlene. The center will not be accepting clothing or large furniture. The center is also still accepting fabric (cotton, flannel, fleece, etc), yarn, pillow stuffing, quilt batting and other craft supplies that they can pass on to volunteers. Volunteers make items that will be sold in the Gift Shops the days of the Garage Sale.<br \/>\nThe Clinton County Senior Center is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday between the hours of 9:00 am and 3:00 pm. There is no fee to become a member and no daily entry fee.
