The David Gerald Band out of Detroit bring hard-hitting contemporary Blues to St. Johns July 23. David performs throughout the United States including New York City and Chicago with his fantastic band. The Fetters Band, also from the Detroit area, will play a great mix of Motown, Classic Rock and Blues Aug. 13. The band performs throughout Midwest, garnering rave reviews.
Popular returning groups include the Jack Clarkson Band with St. Johns favorite Rodney Page, opening the 2014 season June 11. Other favorites back again in 2014 are Louie Longoria (June 18), the Sea Cruisers (July 2), the Mid-Michigan Festival Orchestra (July 16) and Beatles’ tribute band Toppermost (Aug. 6).
The Meridian Concert Band (June 25), and Emmy award-winning Kitty Donohoe (July 30) are back again in 2014 after a hiatus of several years, as is the “Best of Broadway” show (Aug. 20) featuring local performers singing popular show tunes.
In a Concert in the Park finale tradition, Matt King will once again end the season on a high note Aug. 27 with his award-winning Elvis tribute show.
The St. Johns Lions and Lioness Club staff a concession stand each week, offering light refreshments; all concerts are held rain or shine.
Concert in the Park is sponsored by the Clinton County Arts Council and the city of St. Johns, with support from the Michigan Council for the Arts and Cultural Affairs and the National Endowment for the Arts.
For information on Concert in the Park call the Clinton County Arts Council, (989) 224-2429, or visit http://www.clintoncountyarts.org/

[9

post-40745","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-news
["GET
