Clinton County Senior Center
\nThe Clinton County Senior Center, located at 201 E Walker Street in St. Johns has many activities planned for the month of June.
\nOn Thursday and Friday, June 19 and 20 they will hold a Garage Sale (inside the building). It will be held from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on June 19 and then from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on June 20. If you would like to donate anything for their sale, call the center at 989-224-4257 and ask for Darlene. They will not be accepting clothes and large furniture.
\nOn Wednesday, June 25 they will hold an Indoor Summer Picnic from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. An assortment of beach and summer games, along with lunch of hamburgers, hotdogs and egg salad sandwiches will be held. The cost to attend this event will be $3 and an RSVP is required.
\n Anyone aged 55 and over is welcome to become a member (no membership fee \u2013 just a \u00bd page application to fill out) and experience the different events on a daily basis.
\nOn Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday of each week a senior meal is served at noon. Meals range anywhere from Baked Ham or Pork Chops to Baked Spaghetti, BBQ Chicken or Sloppy Joes. These meals are available for a suggested $3 donation. If you can\u2019t afford the donation, don\u2019t worry – no questions are asked why. Every Tuesday and Friday at 12:30 there is bingo. The cost is only $1 and everyone usually walks away with 3-4 prizes each time.
\nEvery Monday from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm the center holds a fundraising meal that is open to the general public. The full meal is available for $5 ($6.50 if you want the homemade pie included) or $3 for the sandwich of the day. Meals in June include: June 2: Unstuffed Cabbage Rolls, June 9: Scalloped Potatoes and Ham, June 16: Turkey and Rice, June 23: Meatloaf and June 30: An assortment of salads.
\nMondays are also Euchre Day\u2019s. On the 1st and 3rd Mondays a Euchre tournament is held from 6:30-8:30 pm and the cost is $2 per person. On the 2nd, 4th and 5th Mondays the tournament is held from 1:00-3:00 pm. If you eat lunch at the center before the Euchre the tournament is only $1. If you come just for the Euchre Tournament it is $2. On the 1st and 3rd Mondays there is also a Trivia Contest from 1:00-3:00 pm at no cost.
\nWednesdays are Game Days. Come and work on a puzzle, play Uno or cribbage, or just sit and socialize. On the 2nd Wednesday of each month birthday cake and ice cream are served. Anyone that is a member that has a birthday that month gets their meal free \u2013 an RSVP the day before is needed.
\nThe center is excited to offer members free Blood Pressure Checks on the 2nd Wednesday of each month between 11:00 am and 12:00 pm. A professional from Grace Haven Assisted Living comes and provides this service free of charge.
