\nAn entire new creative experience can awaken a laid-back spirit and the varied world of art offers a surprising beginning. The excitement of completing a drawing, painting a design on a discarded bottle:or becoming a buddy with a stone that becomes a tiny frog. All forms of adventure that kids attending \u201cKids Art Camp\u201d might well experience.
\nThe annual program, sponsored by Clinton County Arts Council, offers a series of classes introducing youngsters to various projects beginning in late June and runs through early October under the guidance of artists accomplished in their field.
\n\"\"Mary Beth Armbrustmacher draws attention to samples of projects typically completed during summer time Kids Art Camp<\/em>
\nAll classes are conducted on Friday and Saturday, by age, and are held at the depot at 107 E. Railroad St. in St. Johns. Ages 6-9 meet from 10 a.m. to noon and ages 10-13 gather from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Monthly class schedule and project types and instructors are as follows:
\nJune 27 -Paper Box Making, Carey Harris
\nJune 28 – Cartoon Drawing, Melissa Risselada
\nJuly 11 – Glass Bottle Painting, Rosie Feldpausch
\nJuly 12 – Woodland Tic Tac To, Mary Beth Armbrustmacher
\nJuly 25 – Taping and Painting, Mary Beth Armbrustmacher
\nJuly 26 \u2013 Zen Tangle, Barbara Ladisky
\n? ? Aug. 15 – Pinch Pottery, Laurie Becker
\nAug. 16 \u2013 Stone Buddies, Carol Maddox
\nFollowing that series, there will be two classes in the fall, Saturday Sept. 20 and Saturday Oct. 11 with projects to be announced at a later date.
\nFees for all classes are $12 ($10 if CCAA member). Registration forms may be obtained by calling the Gallery, 989 224-2429 or by emailing ccarts@voyager.net<\/a>.
