\"\"At Kids Art Camp
\nSchool has only been out a few days and expressions of \u201cI\u2019m bored,\u201d or \u201cNuthin\u2019 to do,\u201d haven\u2019t had time to pop up. A perfect way to delay those expressions is the summer time adventure into creativity offered by the \u201cKids Art Camp\u201d sponsored by Clinton County Arts Council.
\nIt\u2019s a hands on program offering exposure to a variety of creative experiences ranging from the excitement of completing a drawing or painting, adding character to on old bottle or giving life to an otherwise useless rock.
\nAn entire new creative experience can awaken a laid-back spirit and the varied world of art offers a surprising beginning. The excitement of completing a drawing, painting a design on a discarded bottle:
\nor becoming a buddy with a stone that becomes a tiny frog. All forms of adventure that kids attending \u201cKids Art Camp\u201d might well experience.
\n\"\"Samples of what kids may complete include drawings, cartoon characters, pottery and tiny box creations.<\/em>
\nAll classes are conducted on Friday and Saturday, by age, and are held at the depot at 107 E. Railroad St. in St. Johns. Ages 6-9 meet from 10 a.m. to noon and ages 10-13 gather from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Monthly class schedule and project types and instructors are as follows:
\nJune 27 -Paper Box Making, Carey Harris
\nJune 28 – Cartoon Drawing, Melissa Risselada
\nJuly 11 – Glass Bottle Painting, Rosie Feldpausch
\nJuly 12 – Woodland Tic Tac To, Mary Beth Armbrustmacher
\nJuly 25 – Taping and Painting, Mary Beth Armbrustmacher
\nJuly 26 \u2013 Zen Tangle, Barbara Ladisky
\nAug. 15 – Pinch Pottery, Laurie Becker
\nAug. 16 \u2013 Stone Buddies, Carol Maddox
\nFollowing that series, there will be two classes in the fall, Saturday Sept. 20 and Saturday Oct. 11 with projects to be announced at a later date.
