Senior Citizens Day Friday, August 8
\nEach year the St. Johns Mint Festival holds a Senior Citizens Day and the Clinton County Senior Center is instrumental in getting funding from Walmart for the event.
\nOn Friday, August 8 from 2-5 pm at the Main Pavilion in the City Park seniors from St. Johns and beyond will be able to enjoy an afternoon of refreshments, bingo, health checks, door prizes and entertainment. When seniors arrive if they park in the High School parking lot they can get a golf cart ride to the event location (and of course rides will be available at the end to return them to their vehicles).
\nThe first 150 seniors that arrive will receive a goodie bag. They will need the bags after they have played bingo. Prizes include everything from cookies and crackers to cereal, sugar free and regular candy and much more.
\nThe entertainment will be a group called Fading World. Their mix of music includes classic oldies, pop and show tunes and country songs – music dating back to the early 1900’s to the 80’s. You won’t get bored with Fading World’s program \u2013 there\u2019s always something different.
\nSince the Senior Center is a major sponsor of the event, one lucky member of the Senior Center will go out even a bigger winner. All members of the Clinton County Senior Center will be identified with a special name badge and during the event one lucky name will be drawn to win a prize valued at $75.
