{"id":41735,"date":"2014-07-31T20:57:00","date_gmt":"2014-08-01T00:57:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/wordpress\/?p=41735"},"modified":"2014-07-31T20:57:00","modified_gmt":"2014-08-01T00:57:00","slug":"sjhs-15","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stjindy.com\/archive1\/sjhs-15\/","title":{"rendered":"SJHS teacher participates in Geology Institute"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At Michigan Tech<!--more--><br \/>\nNine teachers from across Michigan recently spent five days on the Michigan Technological University campus, learning about the geology and natural resources of the Upper Peninsula, as well as engineering and societal issues related to mining.<br \/>\nAmong the teachers was Caleb Miller from St. Johns Public High School.<br \/>\nDuring the institute, participants took field trips to explore the geology of the western Upper Peninsula, visiting both historic and active mines. They learned how earth caching can help enhance their teaching.
