Fall session
\nApplications are currently being accepted for those who are interested in serving as a CASA Volunteer Advocate.
\nService as a CASA Volunteer Advocate includes:
\n– Adequate time to visit appointed child(ren) every 7 to 10 days
\n– Participate in monthly CASA Advocate meetings
\n– Regular communication with CASA staff
\n– Access to computer for e-mail and court reporting
\n– Complete a court report and attend court hearings (approximately every 90 days)
\nThe following are the requirements to become a CASA Advocate:
\n– Participate in pre and post training interviews
\n– Pass a criminal and personnel background check
\n– Fully participate in 30 hours of pre-service training
\n– Participate in court observations of child abuse or neglect cases
\n– Good communication skills to work with community partners including Department of Human Services, the court, attorneys, and other resources
