Williams, Kurt J. Becker, Jack W. Link<!--more--><br \/>\n<strong>Ronald James Cuthbert<\/strong><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/sjindy\/obits\/images2\/cuthbert_ronald.jpg\" HSPACE=\"8\" ALIGN=\"left\"\/>Ronald James Cuthbert, age 91, passed away on August 6, 2014.  He was born on Sept. 30, 1922, in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, the son of Daniel and Anna (Swan) Cuthbert.  Ronald retired from General Motors after 34 years of service, and continued to farm full time.  He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a member of UAW #652.  Ronald served in the US Army during WWII and was awarded 3 Bronze Stars and the Meritorious Unit award.  He married Rita Catherine Faivor on July 26, 1952 and she survives him.<br \/>\nAlso surviving are their children, Ron G. (Bonnie) Cuthbert of Ithaca, Don Cuthbert of Lansing, Jack (Jean) Cuthbert of St. Johns, Dick (Debbie) Cuthbert of St. Johns, Patrick James (Sandy) Cuthbert of Elsie, Mark (Chris) Cuthbert of Farmington Hills and Jeff Cuthbert of St. Johns, 10 grandchildren, Angie (Bob) Moon, Amy (Chris) Western, Matthew, Derek (Erin), Daniel (Maria), Justin, Chris, Sonya, Adam (Becky) and Cheryl Cuthbert; 9 great grandchildren, Jacob, Cain, Dana, Taylor, Chloe, Camren, Karrigan, Madisyn and Peyton.  Also his Siberian husky, Koda and many nieces and nephews.  Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters, Rose McNab, Hannah Cameron, Irma Prescott-Stuber, Barbara Frost, Shirley McComb and infant brother, Leo Cuthbert.<br \/>\nFuneral Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Monday, August 11, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Johns, with burial to follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery with Fr. Ken McDonald presiding.  The family will receive friends at Osgood Funeral Home, 104 E. Cass St., St. Johns, on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.   Military Services will be provided by the St. Johns Honor Guard.  Contributions may be made to St. Joseph Educational Trust Fund in memory of Ronald.<br \/>\nThe family is being served by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.osgoodfuneralhomes.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Osgood Funeral Homes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Robert L. Williams<\/strong><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/sjindy\/obits\/images2\/williams_robert.jpg\" HSPACE=\"8\" ALIGN=\"left\"\/>Robert L. Williams passed away peacefully on August 5, 2014 at the age of 94.  He was born on November 6, 1919 in Owosso, Michigan to Harry and Helen (Fairman) Williams and they later moved to St. Johns, MI.  On Christmas Eve in 1942 Robert married Jean Holmes at Hot Springs, AR.  She preceded Robert in death in July, 2012.  Robert proudly served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army.  Mr. Williams\u2019s life work was in accounting and he retired from Lansing\u2019s Federal Drop Forge in 1979.  Robert\u2019s life was characterized by a love of inquisitiveness and learning especially history and many in St. Johns looked to him for historical information when such information was needed.  The overriding factor of his adult life was his marriage of 63 years to Jean, the love of his life.<br \/>\nSurviving is son Robert E. (Linda) of Newberry, MI and daughter Judith Miller of St. Johns grandchildren, Sean (Valerie) Williams, Jenelle (Chris) Brunt, Mary (Jeff) Kettler, Gale (Nick) Miller and Jacob Miller and 2 great grandchildren.  He was predeceased by his wife, his parents and a brother, Jack Williams.<br \/>\nFuneral services will be held at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.keckcolemanfh.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Keck-Coleman Funeral Home<\/a> on Friday, August 8, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Ellen Zienert officiating.  Burial will follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery.  Military honors will be provided by the St. Johns Honor Guard.   The family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, August 7, 2014, 5-8 P.M.  Memorial contributions may be made to The St. Johns Honor Guard.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Kurt J. Becker<\/strong><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/sjindy\/obits\/images2\/becker_kurt.jpg\" HSPACE=\"8\" ALIGN=\"left\"\/>Kurt J. Becker, age 93, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2014 in Bradenton, Florida. He was born on November 26, 1920 in Greenville, Michigan, the son of Frederik and Elise (Sievert) Becker. Kurt graduated from Greenville High School in 1939 and attended Central Michigan University for three and a half years, leaving to join the US Marine Corp in WWII. He served in the South Pacific on Guadalcanal, Guam, and Okinawa. Mr. Becker did occupational duty in Tsingtao, China, after the declaration was signed.<br \/>\nAfter the war, Kurt moved to St. Johns and was associated with Dean Hardware for 19 years. In 1965 he opened his own business, Kurt&#8217;s Appliance Center. Kurt retired from that business in 1986. He was a member of First Congregational Church, having served as chairman of the board and trustee for 8 years. Mr. Becker also belonged to the St. Johns Rotary Club for 55 years and served as president from 1961-1962. He served on the St. Johns Parks and Recreational Board for 18 years and was a trustee of Clinton Memorial Hospital for 32 years. Mr. Becker was on the board of directors of Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor \/ Clinton Area Care Center for 4 years and a trustee for 14 years. Kurt was past president and member of the Mt. Rest Cemetery Board for 27 years. He belonged to the American Legion Post # 153 for 37 years.<br \/>\nKurt married Mary Jean Young on June 25, 1944 and she preceded him in death on September 22, 2000. He was also predeceased by two brothers, Julius and Ernie and a sister, Ann Dean. Mr. Becker is survived by two sons, Scott (Nancy) of St. Johns and Thomas of Denver, CO; granddaughters, Erika (Ben) Hinson of Midland, MI, and Shannon (Eric) Freling of Pittsburgh, PA; special friend, Dorothy Lundquist of Venice, FL; nephews, Gary (Barbara) Becker of St. Johns, Barry Dean of Venice, FL, Robert (Joyce) Becker of Wyoming, MI, and David (Angie) Becker of Holiday, FL; nieces, Barbara Coletta of Bradenton, FL, Kay Ann Hunter of Grayling, MI, and Janet (Jim) Warthman of Alma, MI.<br \/>\nA memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 11, 2014 at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.keckcolemanfh.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Keck-Coleman Funeral Home<\/a>, St. Johns. Military honors will be provided by the St. Johns Honor Guard. The family will receive relatives and friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, August 10, 2014 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Johns Rotary Club, P.O. Box 482, St. Johns, MI 48879.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Jack W. Link<\/strong><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/sjindy\/obits\/images2\/link_jack.jpg\" HSPACE=\"8\" ALIGN=\"left\"\/>Jack W. Link of Davison, age 87, died Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Genesys Regional Medical Center.<br \/>\nJack was born in Saginaw, MI on January 11, 1927, the son of the late Wilmer and Florence G. (Kaul) Link. On November 14, 1953, he married Eunice Bergemann at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Saginaw. Jack served in the United States Army as a Technical Sergeant during World War II. Jack was a pilot and enjoyed flying, golfing and traveling. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Grand Blanc.<br \/>\nSurviving are his wife of 60 years, Eunice; children, Barry and wife Jane, Sue Link, Dave and wife Eunice M. Link of St. Johns MI; 7 grandchildren, Jason, Melissa, Caitlin, Meghan, J.D., Molly and Tessa; a brother, Charles and wife, Marylyn; niece, Mardi Jo Link and nephew, Ben Link. He was preceded in death by his parents.<br \/>\nFuneral service will be held 11 am Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at the Faith Lutheran Church, 12534 South Holly Road, Grand Blanc, Reverend David A. Davis officiating. Burial in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation 2-5 pm and 6-9 pm Tuesday at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.swartzfuneralhomeinc.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Swartz Funeral Home<\/a>, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, MI. Mr. Link will be at the church 10 am Wednesday until the time of the service.
