Minarik, Kenneth Lee Parmenter<!--more--><br \/>\n<strong>Lynn K. \u201cMike\u201d Saxton<\/strong><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/saxton_lynn.jpg\" alt=\"saxton_lynn\" width=\"91\" height=\"129\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-42214\" \/>Lynn K. \u201cMike\u201d Saxton, 78 or rural Ovid died on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 in the same house where he was born after a 2 year battle with Esophageal cancer.  Mike, the ninth child, was born on March 4, 1936 in Duplain Twp. the son of Francis and Elsie (Cook) Saxton.  He attended Ovid High School, became Ovid\u2019s fifth Eagle Scout on December 6, 1951, and served his country during peacetime in the Army between Feb. 1955 and Feb. 1957.  He had retired from Indian Trails on September 9, 1999 after 32 years of accident free miles of driving.  He also was Past Commander of American Legion Post 502 in Elsie.<br \/>\nOn June 22, 1953 he married Beverly Beeman, who survives him. His hobbies include wood working, yard work, and fishing.  He loved his large family and enjoyed spending time with them at family reunions.<br \/>\nAlso survivoring are his children, Kathleen (Kam) Washburn, Suzette (Jeff) Keck, Michael Saxton and Brian Saxton; grandchildren:  Ken Washburn, Kanyon Washburn, Kristine (Matt) Reid, Kelly Washburn, Jessica (Adam) Costakes, Kristen (Dave) Richards and Jacey Champlin; great grandchildren, Scarlett and Grayson Reid and Mekenzie Costakes; sisters Joyce Dush and Lona \u201cSally\u201d Sweet;  Sisters-in-law Pat Saxton, Charlotte Saxton and Doris Walter and 24 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Donal, Edward, Clifford and Leo Saxton and sisters Florence Bradley and Pauline Nethaway.<br \/>\nFuneral services will be held on Friday, August 29, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Kathy Leydorf-Keck officiating.  Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Elsie, MI.  The family will receive friends and relatives at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.keckcolemanfh.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Keck-Coleman Funeral Home<\/a> on Thursday, August 28, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to Lowe Church or Memorial Healthcare Hospice Services.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Ronald P. Minarik<\/strong><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/minarik_ronald.jpg\" alt=\"minarik_ronald\" width=\"91\" height=\"129\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-42215\" \/>Ronald P. Minarik, 57 of St. Johns, MI died on August 25, 2014 at Sparrow Hospital.  Ron was born on January 11, 1957 in St. Johns the son of Paul M. and Barbara (Biddle) Minarik.  He graduated from St. Johns High School in 1975.  Ron owned and operated April Fresh Carpet Cleaning Service.  His love in life was running the business and watching the stock market, his family and especially his grandchildren.<br \/>\nRon is survived by his daughter, April (Steve) Stornant of Utica, MI, his mother, Barbara Minarik; grandchildren, Hayden, Savannah and Coltyn Stornant; sister, Linda (Michael) Fox, brothers Gerald (Dena) Minarik and Donald Minarik all of St. Johns, MI and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul in 2011 and a brother, David Minarik.<br \/>\nFuneral services will be held at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.keckcolemanfh.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Keck-Coleman Funeral Home<\/a> on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at 11:00 A.M with Fr. Michael Williams officiating.  The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home on Friday, August 29, 2014 from 2-8 P.M.  Memorials may be given to the charity of the donor\u2019s choice.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Kenneth Lee Parmenter<\/strong><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/parmenter_ken.jpg\" alt=\"parmenter_ken\" width=\"91\" height=\"129\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-42216\" \/>Kenneth Lee Parmenter, husband and best friend of Marjorie Parmenter passed away on Friday, August 22, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. Ken and Marge\u2019s life together has been a rich tapestry of love, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, travels, hard work, and of course golf. Ken enjoyed an active life filled with swimming, bike riding, walking, golfing, piano playing and traveling to multiple countries.<br \/>\nA single tear in this tapestry occurred in 1998, when their son, Mark Lee Parmenter, passed. Ken and Marge have two daughters sujo Offield of Palm Desert, CA and Kay Parmenter of Charleston, SC, four grandchildren Beau and (Stacey) Parmenter, Spencer and (Whitney) Parmenter, Victoria Parmenter and Olivia Parmenter. They are blessed with two great grandchildren Hollis and Lilah Parmenter.<br \/>\nKen was born in Lansing, Michigan, October 18, 1926 to Arthur and Veva Parmenter. He was co-founder of Al-Par Peat Company with his brother Robert Parmenter and step-father Winfield Aldrich. Ken and Marge are residents of Jensen Beach, Florida and members of Island Dunes Country Club where he got his first hole-in-one last fall. They were long time residents of Ovid and are members of the United Church of Ovid.<br \/>\nFollowing Ken\u2019s philanthropic legacy, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be given to Capital Region Community Foundation Ovid-Elsie Community Fund-Mark L. Parmenter Memorial Fund or United Church of Ovid.<br \/>\nMemorial service will be held at United Church of Ovid on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with a lunch following.
