{"id":46083,"date":"2015-03-19T20:59:43","date_gmt":"2015-03-20T00:59:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/wordpress\/?p=46083"},"modified":"2015-03-19T20:59:43","modified_gmt":"2015-03-20T00:59:43","slug":"gaps","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stjindy.com\/archive1\/gaps\/","title":{"rendered":"GAPS hosts Grand Opening"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/gapsth.jpg\" alt=\"gapsth\" width=\"50\" height=\"50\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-46086\" \/>In Fowler on National Agriculture Day<!--more--><br \/>\nGratiot Agricultural Professional Services (GAPS) hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house for its new Agronomy Center and Dry Fertilizer Facility in Fowler on Wednesday, March 18.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/gaps2.jpg\" alt=\"gaps2\" width=\"500\" height=\"279\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-46087\" \/><br \/>\nThe celebration coincided with National Agriculture Day, which is organized by the Agriculture Council of America.<br \/>\nThe ribbon cutting ceremony was set for 11 a.m., while the facility was open for tours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Agronomy Center is located at 1250 North Edgewood Drive, just west of downtown Fowler off M-21.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/gaps3.jpg\" alt=\"gaps3\" width=\"450\" height=\"316\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-46088\" \/><br \/>\n&#8220;We are proud to be a local company servicing our local growers,&#8221; GAPS owner Rob Blackwell said.<br \/>\n&#8220;We will be right in their backyard. The growers will not have to wait and depend on their dry fertilizer to come from 20 to 40 miles away. GAPS will be able to supply all of their fertilizer inputs along with custom blending.&#8221;<br \/>\nThe nearly 10,000-square-foot facility stores 2,500 tons of dry fertilizer in five bins. Its high-speed blender can unload 3.5 tons in just one minute.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/gaps1.jpg\" alt=\"gaps1\" width=\"450\" height=\"236\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-46089\" \/><br \/>\nFarmers may pick up their own dry fertilizer or GAPS offers delivery and custom application options.<br \/>\nThe building has several environmentally friendly features.
