Tom Leonard joined the wife, children and grandchildren of a fallen Clinton County Fire and Rescue firefighter to unveil a sign naming a portion of U.S. 127 in his honor.<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Leonard, R-DeWitt, was the author of a bill memorializing the stretch of roadway beginning at Colony Road and stretching north to M-57 as the Tim Sanborn Memorial Highway. Sanborn, a third-generation firefighter, suffered a fatal heart attack while battling a house fire on June 22, 2007.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnfortunately, eight years ago today Mr. Sanborn paid the ultimate sacrifice fighting a fire,\u201d Rep. Leonard said. \u201cHaving this portion of U.S. 127 dedicated in his memory is our way of commemorating him and bringing honor to him and his family, as well as to the entire Clinton County Fire and Rescue.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/sanborn2.jpg\" alt=\"sanborn2\" width=\"334\" height=\"409\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-47994\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The unveiling took place on the eighth anniversary of Sanborn\u2019s death.
