Sparrow Clinton Hospital recently received a Five-Star rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) in Patient Experience based on outcomes of its Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems Survey (HCAHPS).<\/p>\n
HCAHPS star ratings allow consumers to more easily compare hospitals using a Five Star Scale, with more stars indicating better quality care. Patient Experience rates 11 areas of service, including doctors’ and nurses’ communication skills, pain control, cleanliness and willingness to recommend the facility.<\/p>\n
Publically Reported Core Measures, established by the CMS, gauge a hospital’s performance in national standards of care for prevention or treatment of distinct conditions. These standards are founded on evidence-based research that has been shown to get the best results for patients.<\/p>\n
CMS reports the top 10-percent of the most successful hospitals across the country for each measure.<\/p>\n
