Wilson School<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The renovation of the Wilson Center is a project that many in the community have working on for a while. This is the historic auditorium at the former Rodney B. Wilson School.<\/p>\n<p>The project has moved along in phases as the flow of incoming donations has allowed.<\/p>\n<p>The first significant improvements were the installation of a modern sound system which is now controlled from a mix board in the balcony. The original bent plywood seats have been refinished and upgraded so that they are now cushioned and upholstered in an attractive red velvet and dark wood stain. The steel framework was repainted and accented by the original SJHS insignia at the ends of the rows. The stage has been painted in a beautiful dark blue accented by metallic gold, and the damaged stage curtains have been repaired.<\/p>\n<p>The project committee is now moving ahead with the next phase which includes refinishing the last half dozen rows of seats on the main floor and replacing the WWII-era lighting system with a more functional and energy-efficient system. These will also be controlled from the balcony instead of backstage as it is now.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/rbw.jpg\" alt=\"rbw\" width=\"450\" height=\"296\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-49510\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rodney B.
