Hart, local plant manager.<br \/>\nThe St. Johns plant was established in 1946 and began operations early in 1947 in the renovated structure formerly owned by the late George H. Chapman on North Mead Street.<br \/>\nIn 1947 there were 34 on the company\u2019s local payroll. This year employment has reached a peak of 520 and amounts to $3.7 millions annually.<br \/>\nKERMIT M.
