Lowe United Methodist to host benefit August 20

Lowe Methodist Church is hosting an Ice Cream Social from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, August 20. Proceeds will go to the Nick Jones family.

The church is located at 5485 W Lowe Rd, St Johns


Eagle Twp to hold Special Recall Election

You are hereby notified that there were sufficient signatures to proceed with a Special Recall Election against Patti Jo Schafer, Eagle Township Supervisor.

The Special Recall Election is to be held in Eagle Township on November 7, 2023, at which time candidates of the Republican and Democratic Parties, and candidates without political party affiliation, who seek election to the partisan office of Eagle Township Supervisor are to be voted on in the township.

The Rodney B. Wilson High School Class of 1964 is gathering for their annual picnic. It will be be held on Sunday, August 27 at the St. Johns City Park, main pavilion.

Starting at noon, they will eat at 1:00. Bring a dish to pass; water will be available.

Class of 1959 reunion is September 14

The RBW Class of 1959 is gathering for a 64th reunion on Thursday, September 14, 2023 (Thursday) at the St. Johns City Park in the large pavilion which has been reserved from 11a.m. to 5 p.m.

A buffet lunch will be available at 1 p.m. for $15 per person. Reservations are required for the lunch.

Please make your reservation by August 31. Make checks to Class of 1959 and mail to Ellen Foust, 217 Banberry North, Lansing, MI 48906.

RBW Class of ’61 First Mondays

The Rodney B. Wilson High School Class of 1961 meets regularly on the First Monday of each month (except holidays) at 9:00 a.m. in the back room of the Main Street Café at 205 N Clinton Avenue in St. Johns.

Everyone orders off the menu, eats, and shares our lives. They welcome all ’61 grads to join them.

All County residents invited to August 30 Bengal Twp open house

You are invited to an Open House where you can show appreciation and thanks to members of all law enforcement officers of Clinton County including sheriff, and city/township police and village police departments for their efforts keeping Clinton County safe.

The event will be held from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Township Hall, 6586 West M-21 west of St Johns.


Concerts in the Park still to come

August 30
Matt King’s award-winning Elvis Tribute show will once again take center stage ending the Concert in the Park season. A Michigan resident, King has travelled throughout the united States and Europe entertaining audiences with his unique ability to bring the King to life via his moves, mannerisms, looks and costuming, and of course, that distinctive voice.

The concert in the Park series is co-sponsored by the Clinton County Arts Council and the City of St. Johns. The concerts are open to the public free of charge – donations are graciously accepted. The Lion’s Club food trailer is in attendance, with all concerts presented every Wednesday rain or shine.
