Timothy Wade Winsor
Timothy Wade Winsor, 62, of Holt, Michigan passed away peacefully on November 26, 2023.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Timothy loved his family above all else. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing in his spare time, as often shown in his sun-kissed complexion. He was passionate about Michigan sports and frequented many Michigan Wolverine games as a loyal fan. GO BLUE!
Tim is remembered for his infectious and distinctive laugh that filled the room and his playful, light-hearted but somewhat mischievous nature.
Growing up, he was the second oldest of 5 children born to Beverly and Lauren Winsor. After graduating St. Johns High School in 1980, Timothy joined the United States Marine Corps where he served four proud years as an Avionics technician working on C-130 aircraft. He was stationed at Cherry Point, NC, and deployed to Okinawa, Japan.
Tim married the light of his life, Deborah Ann (Borchard) Winsor on August 19th, 1989 after meeting her through a friend. They had 25 beautiful years of marriage surrounded by love, children, and the occasional family pets.
He is survived by both of his parents, Lauren and Beverly. His four siblings, Loretta, Calvin, Phil, and Leslie. His two children, Crystal and Kyle, and his three grandchildren, Lily, Harlie, and Oliver. Timothy was predeceased by his adoring wife in 2015.

Jeanette E. Baese
Jeanette E. Baese, 96, of Ovid, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2023.
Jeanette was born on April 30, 1927, the daughter of Clyde and Zetta (Yarger) Morrill and a 1944 graduate of Ovid High School. She owned and operated Mar Mer Beauty Shop in Elsie for over twenty years. In her younger years, Jeanette enjoyed bowling and golfing and she had two holes in one.
Surviving are her children, Linda (Leonard) Huyck, Lynn (Till Lewandowski) Baese and Marilee (Rick) Zruna; grandchildren, Renae and Rhett Huyck, Amber (Corey) Davis, Zack and Chris Zruna; great-grandchildren, Harper and Hudson Davis, Christopher, Brandon, Zaryn and Marrah Zruna; brother, Richard Morrill, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Friends and family will gather at McGeehan Funeral Home, Keck-Coleman Chapel, 1500 Waterford Pkwy on Saturday, December 2, 2023 from 2-4 PM. Burial will follow at Reed Cemetery, Victor Township.

James Richard Kus
James Richard Kus passed away on November 26, 2023 at the age of 73 with family by his side. Born on July 13, 1950, James was a steadfast figure of love, guidance, and strength. He was a 1968 graduate of St. Johns High School.
The beloved husband of Melody “Molly” Kus, James was a loving father to Jamie (Greg) Losch, Jeff Kus, and Jonathan Kus. He was a devoted papa to Jordan, Jaylen, and Jenna Losch. Brother to Sherrie Jopke, Dori (Lee) Smith, and Larry (Sharon) Kus. Fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews, James held his family dear to his heart. He was preceded in death by his parents Otto and Donna (Wieber) Kus.
Following a long and distinguished career, James retired as a Detective from the Lansing Police Department in 1997, having served our community with unwavering courage since 1969. He dedicated his later years to the Eaton County Prosecutors Office; alongside roles as an Academic Specialist Instructor at MSU and with the Michigan State Police. His commitment to public safety culminated in founding Kus & Associates, LLC as a Security Consultant. James also retired after serving 20 Honorable years in the Michigan National Guard.
A staunchly outdoors-loving individual, James possessed a passion for swimming, walking and keeping his lawn well-manicured. He had an undeniable talent for the Accordion and loved polka music.
A Funeral Service will be held 12:00 pm, Friday, December 1, 2023 at the Mills Funeral Home, Peters & Murray Chapel, Grand Ledge. Shirley Ann Rolfe
Shirley Ann Rolfe, age 85, of Dewitt passed away peacefully on November 22, 2023.
Shirley graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and as a member of the Delta Zeta sorority. Following college, she embarked on a 32-year teaching career at St. Johns Public High School where she taught History and English.
Shirley is survived by her 3 children Diana (Rolfe) Green, Wayne Rolfe, Kristen Rolfe, granddaughter Mackenzie (Green) Kozlowski, brothers Bruce and Jim Dalman, and sister Vicki (Dalman) Patton. She is preceded in death by her parents William C. Dalman and Marguerite (Klaver) Dalman, brother Gary Dalman, and beloved husband Truman Rolfe.
Shirley was a member of Redeemer United Methodist church in DeWitt where she served as the church organist for several years and enjoyed attending weekly Bible study.
Eloise W. Brown
Eloise W. Brown (Myers), 90, of St. Johns passed away peacefully on November 26, 2023. She was second eldest of thirteen children of Herman and Mira (Simms) Myers, born April 16, 1933 in Fowler, MI.
She left home to serve our country with the Air Force, receiving an Honorable Dischargein1954 to raise a family.
Eloise finally retired in 2021 after traveling the world for 32 years as a military spouse, with a career in real estate and then owning an upholstery business. She was also a wonderful seamstress, taught cake decorating, and was a yoga enthusiast, instructing for 15 years until 2020.
She was an extraordinary person – always strong and independent, generous and giving, and a good friend, but above all else, was a loving and devoted mother.
Eloise is survived by her children, Charlane Brown, Patricia Brown and Dewey (Lisa) Brown; grandchildren, Chayne (Courtney) Shotkoski, Cailan Shotkoski, Charissa Shotkoski and Emma Brown; great granddaughter Cecelia Shotkoski; siblings, Jack (Maxine) Myers, Fay Schmitz, Susan (Thomas) George, Mark (Eve Gross) Myers, Alvin Myers, Ernest (Rosemary) Myers, Grace (Leon) Thelen. She is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Norma Claeys, Karen Myers, Charlie Myers, Gerald Myers and Richard Myers.

Joshua Robert Barish
Joshua Robert Barish, age 33 and a resident of St. Johns, died on November 22, 2023 after sustaining injuries in an automobile accident. Born on March 9, 1990, the son of Robert and Melissa Reed Barish, Josh grew up in Lansing and attended Holt High School.
He enjoyed working construction and most recently enjoyed working concrete and landscaping with Outdoor Specialties in Lansing. He was a hard worker and worked hard at bettering his life for a good future. He was funny, loving, caring, loved his family, had a special relationship with his nieces, cherished time with his grandpa and grandma “Nana” Reed, and talked to his mom, dad, and sister every day. They will all miss him dearly.
He is survived by his parents, Robert and Melissa Barish; his sister, Nicole (fiance, Mario Perez) and her children, Olivia and Alaia; his girfriend, Amy Weldon; grandparents, Donald and Lacinda “Cindy” Reed and Bethany Barish, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Gene “Geno” Barish in 2010.
A Funeral Service will be held at McGeehan Funeral Home, Keck-Coleman Chapel, 1500 Waterford Parkway, St. Johns, on Thursday, November 30 at 4 PM with Pastor Andy Croel officiating. Friends may visit from 2 PM until the time of service. Memorials may be made to the family.
Mary Jean Grubaugh
Mary Jean Grubaugh, age 75, of Bannister, MI, passed away Thursday, November 23, 2023 at Sparrow Clinton Hospital, St. Johns, MI. Gathered by her bedside, the family was honored to witness her final proof of devotion as she expressed her enduring love to her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A private, family Graveside Service will be held at Riverside Cemetery, Elsie, MI.
Mary was born in Saginaw, Michigan on April 12, 1948, the daughter of Russell H. and Mildred C. (Warner) Nieman. She was the baby of her family with four older brothers. She graduated from Fulton High School. Mary married Ronald Grubaugh on February 5, 1966 on a beautiful, warm day in St. Johns, MI.
Together Ron and Mary raised three daughters who grew up to be strong and independent women thanks to their loving mother. As her daughters married and started families of their own, she welcomed her sons-in-law, grandchildren and great grandchildren with loving open arms. Absolutely nothing was more important to Mary than her family, and she loved family gatherings.
Mary was a waitress at the Wheel Inn in St. Johns, MI for many years and enjoyed taking care of her customers. Beginning in 1965 Mary began her loyal support of her brother John throughout his decades of drag racing at the Mid-Michigan Motorplex. Mary also looked forward to casino trips with her family and friends.
She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Ron Grubaugh, daughters: Jeanne Brouillette, Joann and Dennis Campbell, and Amy and John Swagart, grandchildren: Emily, Alan, Jessica (Justin), David (Emma), Nathan, Rebecca (Dylan), Michael (Leslie), and Brandon (Abbey), great-grandchildren: Lily, Addison, Amelia, Sammy, and Olivia. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Penny Nieman. Mary joins her parents, brothers Paul, Carl, Jerry, John, and her nephew Wade Nieman.
The family requests no flowers. However, Mary was a faithful supporter of Make-a-Wish Foundation and if you choose, donations may be made in her honor.
