Jon Michael Riley
Jon Michael Riley, Fruitport, Michigan, age 60, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2022. He was born on September 10, 1962, in St. Johns, MI, grew up in Westphalia, and graduated from Pewamo-Westphalia High School in 1981. He was the son of Eugene and Audrey (Witgen) Riley.
Jon was a member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus, and worked at Federal Mogul for 20 years, in addition to several more years in manufacturing and operations at various locations. Jon loved hunting, fishing, camping, planting trees (especially pine trees), cooking for friends and family, and anything involving the outdoors and entertaining. He was passionate about conservation and loved taking people on “habitat evaluations”.
Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Colleen Riley; children, Damien (Shawn) Vella of Caro, MI, Kolina (Kent) Dell of Fowler, Keegan (Marissa) Riley of Fowler, Kayla (Kwabe) Ekye-Addai of Lansing, Kameron Riley of Fowler, and Milah Riley-Trevino of Mexico; 15 grandchildren; mother, Audrey Riley; siblings, Steve (Karen) of Stevensville, MI, Sandy (Luke) Kowatch of Westphalia, Jayne (Glen) Klein of Portland, Pat (Stacey) Riley of Fowler, and Perry (Shirley) Thelen of Westphalia. Preceding him in death were his father, Gene Riley; twin sister, Jan Thelen; godmother, Janet (Riley) Burns; and several in-laws.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 22, 2022, at St Mary’s Catholic Church, Westphalia, MI, with Rev. Eric Weber presiding. Rite of Committal will be at St Mary’s Catholic Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2022 at the St. Mary’s Funeral Chapel, 210 N. Westphalia Street, Westphalia, with the rosary being prayed at 4:00 p.m.

Mark Clifford Miser
Mark Clifford Miser, loving son, brother, uncle and friend, passed away unexpectedly on September 30, 2022, at the age of 67.
He will be honored in a celebration of his life, to be scheduled at a later date.
Mark was born in Lansing, MI, on December 12, 1954, the son of Lloyd and Dorothy “Dot” (Hasbrook) Miser. Mark graduated from Haslett High School and Alma College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. He retired from the State of Michigan where he was a social worker.
He loved gardening, canning and baking. He was a gifted musician and vocalist. He played the piano, violin, guitar and saxophone. He was a devoted member of the Mint City Singers and sang in the choir at the Congregational Church in St. Johns. Mark was also an active member of the Clinton County Arts Council.
Mark’s greatest love was for animals, especially his 2 beloved dogs, Buster and Henry, who were his devoted companions. Mark was an intelligent, talented and kind person. He will be missed by all who had the good fortune to know him.
He is survived by his two sisters: Sheryl (Alan) Darling and Judy (Charlie) O’Rourke; and seven nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

David G. Danley
David Danley, age 80, loving father and husband, peacefully passed away on September 9, 2022. He was born in St. Johns, MI on October 31, 1941 to Agnes and Jack Danley.
He was an avid sports fan, enjoyed coin collecting and loved spending time with family and friends in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Judith (nee Armstrong of Hamilton); daughters Kristin (Mike) Jarvie, Cheryl (Rick) Hennessy; granddaughters Leah, Isabelle, and Alexis; grandson, David; nephews Michael and Jay Russo; sister-in-law, Linda (Dale) Pirie as well as other family members and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Tom.

Daniel J. Rademacher
Daniel J. Rademacher, a long time resident of St. Johns, died peacefully at his home on October 14, 2022 after battling COPD for many years. He was 62 years old.
Born on July 3, 1960, the son of Roderick and Mary L. (Quick) Rademacher, Dan grew up in St. Johns where he was a 1978 graduate of St. Johns High School. Following high school he worked at Federal Mogul, and at its closing attended Lansing Community College where he completed his Associate’s Degree before beginning his work as a timber spotter with the Maple Rapids Lumber Mill. It was a position for which he was well suited as it afforded him countless hours in the woods and out-of-doors he so loved. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and a hard worker who was good at working with his hands, and was self-sufficient in that he was a jack-of-all-trades who could complete any task at hand.
In addition to Joan, his beloved wife of over thirty-eight years, he leaves his son, Nick (fiance Michelle Lindsey); his daughter, Jessica, and his daughter, Brittany, for whom he reserved a most special spot in his heart.
Also surviving are his siblings, Anne Rademacher, Gerald (Michelle) Rademacher, and Russell Rademacher; sisters and brothers-in-law, Rachele Rademacher, Ray Taylor, Jim Taylor, Sharon and Larry Eliason, and numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Ed Rademacher, father and mother-in-law, Bob and Marie Taylor, and brother-in-law, Gary Taylor.
A Memorial Gathering will be held at McGeehan Funeral Home, Keck-Coleman Chapel, 1500 Waterford Parkway, St. Johns, on Wednesday, October 19, from 4-8 PM. Memorials may be made in his name to the Prader-Willi Syndrome Association.
Leo Alan Rowell
Leo Alan “Lee” Rowell, age 80, of St. Johns, MI, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at Memorial Healthcare, Owosso, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes – Osgood Chapel, St. Johns, MI, at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, October 17, 2022, with Pastor Mona Kindel officiating. Burial will take place at Sowle Cemetery, Essex Twp, MI. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 16, 2022 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
Lee was born in Fowler, Michigan on September 24, 1942, the son of Carl and Elizabeth (Weitzel) Rowell. Lee graduated from Fowler High School. He married Sally Melton on August 1, 1987 in DeWitt, MI.
After serving his country in the United States Navy, Lee returned to his hometown and started work at General Motors retiring as a supervisor after 30 years of service. He was also a lifelong farmer raising crops and livestock. He enjoyed snowmobiling and fishing. Lee also enjoyed trips to the casino with his wife and friends. Most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Sally Rowell of St. Johns, MI; children: Brenda and Robert Tipton of Maple Rapids, MI; Beverly Rowell of Lansing, MI; Bette and Jeff Workman of Elsie, MI; Christopher and Rebecca Melton of Grand Rapids, MI; grandchildren: Tonya and Nate Monroe, Trina and Chad Pontack, Jeremy and Sarah Denison, Courtney Workman and Austin VanZee, Victoria Workman, and Guiliana and Andrew Melton; great-grandchildren: Mia, Blake and Brenden Monroe, Carley, Hayden, Landon, and Elijah Pontack. He is also survived by his siblings: Ray and Cathy Rowell of Fowler, MI; Betty Montague of Lyons, MI; Shirley and Paul Weber of Fowler, MI; and Gale and Mary Rowell of Fowler, MI; many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
