The Spray Park will be opening for the summer beginning on June 1st. The Spray Park is open 7 days a week from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm.<\/p>\n<p>If you have any questions regarding the Spray Park, you can contact the recreation department at (989)224-8944 ext 227 or 228. Saturday June 9th is your lucky day to buy home grown produce, baked goods, frozen meats, crafts, jams and salsa, honey, maple syrup and kettle corn. A new meat wagon will be selling breakfast and lunch. For more information call 989-533-9535 or 989-544-5764<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Michigan Tech releases Dean&#8217;s List<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Michigan Technological University, in Houghton, Michigan, has released the Dean&#8217;s List for the 2018 spring semester. Nearly 1,600 students were named to the Dean&#8217;s List this spring.<\/p>\n<p>To be included, students must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or higher. A pound sign indicates a student who earned University Honors, finishing in the top 2 percent of their College or School. Asterisks indicate those earning straight-A averages of 4.0.<\/p>\n<p>Among the honorees are the following from the area:<\/p>\n<p><em>DeWitt<\/em>: Nicholas Schieberl, Dewitt High School, Mechanical Engineering<\/p>\n<p><em>Saint Johns<\/em>: Jacob Suidgeest (straight-A averages of 4.0, in the top 2 percent of the College or School), Saint Johns High School, Computer Science<\/p>\n<p><em>Westphalia<\/em>: Derrick Smith, Pewamo Westphalia High School, Computer Science<br \/>\nJared Smith, Pewamo Westphalia High School, Computer Engineering<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Lawrence Tech names students to Dean&#8217;s Honor Roll<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The following local students have been named to the Dean&#8217;s Honor Roll for the Spring 2018 semester at Lawrence Technological University. To be named to the honor roll a student must maintain at least a 3.5 grade point average for the term.<\/p>\n<p><em>St Johns<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Brant Boettger, Audio Engineering Technology<br \/>\nBrendan Seyka, Graphic Design<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Leonard announces June office hours<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Speaker of the House Tom Leonard, R-DeWitt, will host office hours to meet with local residents and discuss their concerns about state government. Speaker Leonard represents Michigan\u2019s 93rd District.<\/p>\n<p>The local coffee hour will take place on Friday, June 8, 8:00 a.m. \u2013 9:30 a.m. at Big Boy, 1408 Old U.S. 27, St. Johns, MI 48879.<\/p>\n<p>Local residents are encouraged to bring comments, questions and concerns about local government and anything else happening in the local community.
