Adaline Dershem<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/stjindy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/dershem_adeline.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"91\" height=\"129\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1221\" \/>S. Adaline Dershem, age 95 of St. Johns, MI, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2018, at Ingham County Medical Care Center, Okemos, MI.<\/p>\n<p>Funeral Services will be held at Lowe United Methodist Church, St. Johns, MI, on Friday, June 15, 2018  at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Kathy Leydorf &#8211; Keck officiating.  Burial will take place at Mt. Rest Cemetery, St. Johns, MI. Visitation will be held on Friday from 1:00 until the time of service at the church.<\/p>\n<p>Adaline was born in Illinois on June 6, 1923 the daughter of Andrew and Clarabelle (Ruyle) Duncan.  Adaline married Francis Dershem on July 5, 1941 in Conway, South Carolina.  Francis passed away on March 15, 2003.  Adaline resided most of her life in St. Johns<\/p>\n<p>Adaline was a member of Lowe United Methodist Church and was a former 4-H Leader, she was also involved with Clinton County Extension. Adaline was a bus driver and custodian for East Essex Elementary School for many years.  She was an artist and enjoyed crafting.  Adaline was talented in oil painting and china painting.  She was also a quilter and made quilts for family members.  For many years, she spent the winters in warmer climates, such as Florida and Arizona.  Adaline spent the last year at Grace Haven Assisted Living.  She was born a city girl but married a farmer and had a wonderful life.<\/p>\n<p>She is survived by 4 daughters: Annette and Rod Andrus of St. Johns, MI; Sandy and Phil Vasilion of DeWitt, MI; Denise and Ron Knochel of Camp Verde, AZ; Jenny and Brian Shaw of Ashley, MI; 2 sons: Larry Dershem of Rathdrum, Idaho; Andy Dershem of Cottonwood, Arizona; 14 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great grandchildren.  Adaline was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 daughters-in-law Shelby and Jackie Dershem, 2 grandchildren, 5 brothers: Lyman, Perry, Harold, Charles and Lawrence Duncan; and 3 sisters: Winifred Lefky, Thelma Ely and Phyllis Wren.<\/p>\n<p>Memorials may be made to Lowe United Methodist Church. The family is being served by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.smithfamilyfuneralhomes.com\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><font color=\"#0000CC\">Smith Family Funeral Homes<\/font><\/a> &#8211; Osgood Chapel, St. Johns, MI.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Ronald Andrew Henning<\/strong> and <strong>Bernardine Rose Henning<\/strong> service<\/p>\n<p>Memorial graveside services for Ronald Andrew Henning (1928-2017) and Bernardine Rose Henning (1929-2017) will be held on Monday, June 18, 2018 at 12 Noon at Mount Rest Cemetery in St. Johns, MI.<\/p>\n<p>Bruce Bishop will be the officiant. Family and friends are welcome to attend.<\/p>\n<p>******<\/p>\n<p>Ronald A. Henning, Charlotte, North Carolina, formerly of Battle Creek and St. Johns, Michigan, died January 14, 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Ron was born in St. Johns on August 3, 1928, the son of Andrew and Elizabeth (Dobson) Henning.<\/p>\n<p>He graduated in 1946 from Rodney B. Wilson High School, where he had the role of a candy salesman in his senior class play, &#8220;You Can&#8217;t Take It With You.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He worked at Federal-Mogul in St. Johns for 19 years, and in the early &#8217;60s, while working full-time, he studied evenings to become a licensed insurance agent. In 1965, he opened his own agency under the State Farm Insurance banner, and during a 26-year career, earned frequent recognition for product line sales and customer service until his retirement in 1991.<\/p>\n<p>Besides being a top insurance salesman, Ron was also known for a wicked backspin in table tennis, a short fuse at the Euchre table, a lifelong love-hate relationship with the Detroit Tigers, and a never-ending quest for the perfect cribbage hand. He also made a habit of making friends of strangers, and could stretch a story beyond its breaking point, sometimes even managing to convert a non-believer.<\/p>\n<p>Ron cherished spending time with his family, especially his wife, Bernardine (Mankey), and she survives him. They were married in St. Johns in 1949. Together, they raised six children.<\/p>\n<p>Surviving Mr. Henning are his children, sons: Tim and (Michele) Henning of Atlanta, GA; Dan and (Mary Ann) Henning of Battle Creek, MI; and Steve and (Karen) Henning of Charlotte, NC; and daughter, Chris Henning of East Lansing, MI. Also surviving are grandchildren: Nicole Burgwyn (and Troy Crouch), Atlanta, GA; Brent (Meghan) Henning, Jacksonville, FL; Kurt Henning and Eric Henning, Grand Rapids, MI; Steve II (Meonka) Henning, Charlotte, NC; Theresia (John) Powers, Charlotte, NC; and Jeff (Morgan) Henning, Fountain, CO;  and eight great-grandchildren: Jack, Holland, Makiah, Steve III, Addison and Benjamin Henning, and JP and Madelyn Powers.<\/p>\n<p>Other survivors include sisters-in-law Bonna Rae Henning, Jeanette (Henning) Powers, Betty Mankey and Glenna Mankey, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n<p>He was preceded in death by two sons, Terry and Dennis; brothers, Robert, Russell, Raymond, and Donald; and sisters, Louise and Audrey.<\/p>\n<p>Graveside services will be held at a later date.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/indylite\/archives\/7944\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><font color=\"#0000CC\">Find the full obituary for Bernardine here<\/font><\/a>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Randy McClain<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/stjindy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/mcclain_randy.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"91\" height=\"129\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1149\" \/>Randy McClain, age 65 of St. Johns, MI passed away Thursday, May 31, 2018 at his home.<\/p>\n<p>A Private Family Service has been held.<\/p>\n<p>Randy was born in McAlester, Oklahoma on December 15, 1952, the son of Alex and Bonnie (Carter) McClain. Randy married Mary Malecki on May 12, 1984 in St. Johns, MI.<\/p>\n<p>Randy is survived by his wife Mary of St. Johns, MI; 3 sons: Travis (Victoria) McClain of Bitely, MI; Shane (Theresa) McClain of Battle Creek, MI; Carson (Michelle) McClain of Fort Wayne, IN; 6 grandchildren: Chucky, Shaina, Gemma, Zoe, Stella, and Severin; mother Bonnie Oertli of Mena, AR; sister Josanna (Tom) Butler of Houston, TX; 2 brothers: Lee (Cheryl) Oertli of Holt, MI; Henry (Sue) McClain of Plad, MO.  He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.  Randy was preceded in death by his father Alex, his step-father Alvin Oertli, also his mother and father-in-law Mary and Robert Malecki.<\/p>\n<p>Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children&#8217;s Hospital. Seibert<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/stjindy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/seibert_david2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"91\" height=\"129\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1144\" \/>David C. Seibert died Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at the age of 81. He was born January 31, 1937 in St. Johns, MI the son of Albert \u201cBud\u201d and Marjorie (Sheldon) Seibert.  David was an Army veteran, a member of AM Vets and American Legion Post #153 in St. Johns. He was a member of St. John\u2019s Lutheran Church and enjoyed going to garage sales and auctions looking for antiques.  In 1989 he retired from General Motors with over 30 years of service. On July 27, 1974 he married Anneliese \u201cAnna\u201d Krenn and she survives him.<\/p>\n<p>Also surviving are his children, Angie (Kurt) Ramsay, Ken (Brenda) Barber, Bob (Janell) Barber and Delynn Reist (Mike VanEtten); eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; a sister, Sylvia Outlaw and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Charlie and Dan Seibert and a sister, Kathleen McGeachie.<\/p>\n<p>Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, June 11, 2018 at St. John\u2019s Lutheran Church 511 E. Sturgis St. with Pastor Martin Schroeder officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery with military honors provided by the St. Johns Honor Guard. The family will receive relatives and friends 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Sunday at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.keckcolemanfh.com\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><font color=\"#0000CC\">Keck-Coleman Funeral Home<\/font><\/a>, St. Johns.
