American Legion recognizes members<\/strong><\/p>\n

On June 21 the Officers of American Legion Post 153 St. Johns, MI recognized Lynne Priester (Auxiliary) and Rick Priester (SAL) for their many years of dedicated service to Post 153.<\/p>\n

Senior Vice Commander MItch Louth presented each of the Priesters with Certificates of Appreciation and Legion Family jackets.<\/p>\n

Sparrow Clinton Hospital awards Whyman healthcare scholarships <\/strong><\/p>\n

Sparrow Clinton Hospital awarded 10 Clinton County students pursuing healthcare careers with $2,000 each in scholarship assistance.<\/p>\n

2021 Whyman Scholarship winners are:<\/p>\n

– Alyssa Benit of St. Johns, entering Saginaw Valley State University for nursing;
\n– Mary Billips of St. Johns, attending Grand Valley State University Kirkhof College for Nursing;
\n– Rebecca Bovee of DeWitt, attending Ferris State University for pharmacy;
\n– Sparrow Clinton caregiver Kelly Cerny of St. Johns, attending Baker College for radiology technology;
\n– Brooke Gnegy of St. Johns, attending Saginaw Valley State University for nursing;
\n– Adysen Koenigsknecht of Fowler, entering Lansing Community College for dental hygiene;
\n– Jada Palmer of St. Johns, attending Grand Valley State University for physician assistant program;
\n– Abigail Sjoberg of DeWitt, entering Loyola University, Chicago for neuroscience;
\n– Emily Thelen of St. Johns, attending Central Michigan University for speech-language pathology; and
\n– Leeann Wilkins of St. Johns, attending Lansing Community College for nursing.<\/p>\n

The Merten and Geraldine Whyman Health Careers Scholarship Fund, an endowment fund established in 1986, provides annual scholarships to Clinton County residents for education in a health-related field. The fund has grown, thanks to additional contributions by community members.<\/p>\n

To date, 322 students have received Whyman scholarships, representing a total education investment of more than $356,600.<\/p>\n

Free meals every Tuesday<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

His Cup Runneth Over, a free meal ministry, will be doing free<\/em> meals every Tuesday starting Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Free meals will be given out from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at First Congregational Church, 100 Maple Ave., St. Johns. They will be located in the back southwest corner of the parking lot.<\/p>\n

Everyone is welcome to come, and it is free for all who come. For those unable to pick up lunch, please call to arrange for delivery by Monday.<\/p>\n

SJHS Auto Show is July 17<\/strong><\/p>\n

The date set for the St. Johns Auto Program 50th Anniversary Celebration is July 17.<\/p>\n

They will be working on getting all the cool stuff they had scheduled before we had to reschedule due to the pandemic. They also expect to have Rhino Dyno coming, so get those engines tuned up for a good time.<\/p>\n

2nd annual Fall FEASTival is September 18<\/strong><\/p>\n

Please join us for the second annual Fall FEASTival in beautiful downtown St. Johns on Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.<\/p>\n

If it’s edible and made locally, you’re sure to find it at the Fall FEASTival.<\/p>\n

Come meet the people that make the food that you love and discover new ones too while you shop local stores in the downtown, enjoy the live music, games, and so much more.<\/p>\n

This is a Free family fun event.<\/p>\n

Organizers are inviting all Michigan-Made food producers, farms, food trucks, and so much more.<\/p>\n
