Diabetes workshop begins October 12<\/strong><\/p>\n

Diabetes PATH is a 6-week interactive workshop designed for individuals with diabetes and pre-diabetes. You will learn how meal plan, decrease stress, get physically active, balance blood sugar, make goals, improve energy, and more!<\/p>\n

Where: Online via Zoom
\nWhen: Tuesdays, October 12 – November 16, 2021 from 1:30 – 4:00 p.m.<\/p>\n

Free of change but donations accepted<\/p>\n

Free for Fall event is Saturday, October 16<\/strong><\/p>\n

Clinton County Department of Waste Management is hosting our Free for Fall event on Saturday, October 16 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in DeWitt Twp. Clinton County residents will be required to register for an appointment to attend this event \u2013 location given upon registration.<\/p>\n

This event will be just like the spring collection this year in that they are accepting electronics like computer equipment, stereo equipment, phones, etc. and household hazardous waste items (like yard chemicals, pool chemicals, oil based paint, medications, and oil and antifreeze.<\/p>\n

Senior Center Available for Holiday Rentals<\/strong><\/p>\n

Are you looking for a location to hold a Family or Business Christmas Party? Then come and take a look at the Clinton County Senior Center, located at 201 E Walker Street in St. Johns. It is available for rent most weekends of the year.<\/p>\n

The center has two large rooms (one with dining tables & chairs) available for use. The center rents for $100 – $150. The price depends on whether you use the kitchen or just the large rooms.<\/p>\n

If you would like a tour of the facility, stop in any Mon, Tue or Fri between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. If you have any questions you can also call them at 989-224-4257.<\/p>\n

Free meals every Tuesday<\/strong><\/p>\n

His Cup Runneth Over, a free meal ministry, will be doing free<\/em> meals every Tuesday starting Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Free meals will be given out from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at First Congregational Church, 100 Maple Ave., St. Johns. They will be located in the back southwest corner of the parking lot.<\/p>\n

Everyone is welcome to come, and it is free for all who come. For those unable to pick up lunch, please call to arrange for delivery by Monday.<\/p>\n

LAFCU offers free shredding October 9<\/strong><\/p>\n

In order to reduce identify theft LAFCU is offering free document shredding to the public at the credit union\u2019s Shred Day, Saturday, October 9 from 10 a.m. to noon.<\/p>\n

A mobile shredding truck will be at LAFCU\u2019s West Lansing Branch, 106 N. Marketplace Blvd., for on-site secure destruction of personal documents. The paper will be recycled. Each person may drop off up to four Bankers Boxes of materials to be shred. Masks are required and social distancing measures will be in place.<\/p>\n

\u201cLAFCU offers this free service to the public to help keep our community safe from identity theft,\u201d said Alyssa Troub, marketing and communications specialist. \u201cIt is best practice to shred documents with personal account information on them. If you don\u2019t need the documents anymore, we can dispose of them securely.\u201d<\/p>\n

Recommended materials are documents that have identifying information about financial, medical and Social Security accounts. This includes receipts, address labels, bills, insurance claims, tax forms and checking, savings and loan statements.<\/p>\n

At LAFCU\u2019s May 1 Shred Day more than 7,000 pounds of paper was shredded and recycled, equating to approximately 50 trees saved.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
