The Hall is located at 1108 N US Highway 27 in Saint Johns.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Cedar Creek to host blood drive March 10<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Cedar Creek Hospital will host a blood drive in the parking lot on Thursday, March 10, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. &#8211; 6:00 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Cedar Creek Hospital is located at 101 W Townsend Road in St. Johns. The contest awards $10,000 in college scholarships and donates $2,000 to charities in the names of the winners.<\/p>\n<p>Four high school seniors will each receive a $2,500 scholarship to an accredited Michigan college or university. Each will also select a charity to receive a LAFCU donation of $500.<\/p>\n<p>The entry deadline is March 31, 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Winners will be selected based on their one-page essay that examines their experiences during the coronavirus pandemic. Other factors, such as academic grades and financial need, are not considered.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe essay is an opportunity for students to reflect on their high school successes and their future plans despite the extraordinary challenges caused by the pandemic,\u201d said Kelli Ellsworth Etchison, LAFCU chief marketing officer and chief diversity officer. \u201cAnd because there are no other factors in determining the winners, everyone starts on a level playing field.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Winners will each select one of these charities to receive a $500 LAFCU donation:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Capital Area Humane Society<br \/>\n&#8211; Capital Area United Way<br \/>\n&#8211; Greater Lansing Food Bank<\/p>\n<p>Ellsworth Etchison explained, \u201cThe charity donation supports the credit union philosophy of \u2018People Helping People\u2019 and demonstrates the power of giving back \u2014 an important concept for the state\u2019s next generation of leaders.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Winning essays will be published in the Lansing State Journal, community sponsor of the contest.<\/p>\n<p>Entrants must be a Michigan high school student and do not need to be a LAFCU member. Please do not place items out to the curb prior to Saturday, April 30.<\/p>\n<p>Items must be placed out by 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 7. Items placed after the contractor has passed will not be picked up.<\/p>\n<p>Clean-up is limited to 3 cubic yards of material (approx. the size of a regular pick-up truck box). Pickers be courteous and keep areas tidy. Do not leave a mess!<\/p>\n<p>This is available for city residents whom live in a one to four unit dwelling. A refuse fee is applied to the summer tax bill to pay for this service.
