Live Clothed Figure Drawing coming September 21<\/strong><\/p>\n

On September 21 from 7:00 \u2013 9:00 p.m. there will be an opportunity for artists to make Live Clothed Figure Drawings at The Art & Soul Gallery.<\/p>\n

Everyone from ages 14 to 114 is welcome to join them for a session of live figure drawing. This is an instruction-less session, but you are welcome to ask for suggestions from the other artists.<\/p>\n

Volunteer models can attend the rest of the year’s sessions for free, otherwise $4.00 admission. Bring your own drawing materials. This will be a reoccuring, monthly course – every third Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Fall Collection Event is September 24<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Free for Fall collection event will be taking place on September 24 this year.<\/p>\n

This event will be accepting electronic waste (computer equipment, stereo, televisions, etc.) and household hazardous waste (oil based paint, medications, yard chemicals, etc.)<\/p>\n

An appointment is required to attend the event. To sign up for an appointment click here<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n

After creating a new account, click on the green “recycling and collection events” tab, then click on “free for fall collection” to pick an appointment time. After making your reservation you will receive an email with additional information.<\/p>\n

Good News Kitchen offers free lunches on Tuesdays<\/strong><\/p>\n

Good News Kitchen, a ministry of St. John’s Lutheran Church, serves free lunches on Tuesdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The St. John’s Lutheran Church is located at 511 E. Sturgis St. in St. Johns, the corner of Business 27 and Sturgis St.<\/p>\n

You may stop by and grab a free lunch to go for yourself, your family, a friend or a neighbor. Meals are free for everyone, and all are welcome to come although donations are always accepted and appreciated.<\/p>\n

If you have questions or want to order ahead for pick up call 989-224-6796. Look for the signs and come to the west side entrance to get your free meals.<\/p>\n

Musical comedy to open October 7<\/strong><\/p>\n

Performances of Homegrown Productions murder mystery satire “Musical Comedy Murders of 1940” will be offered at the Wilson Center Auditorium on Friday, October 7, Sunday, October 9 (matinee), Saturday, October 15 and Sunday, October 16 (matinee). Note the staggered dates due to the shared use of the auditorium.<\/p>\n

Annual Chocolate Walk is October 7<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 2nd Annual Chocolate Walk is planned for Friday, October 7, 2022
\nfrom 5 \u2013 8:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

The Chocolate Walk is sure to be a night of sweet fun for everyone. Enjoy a night touring St. Johns businesses while collecting a chocolate treat at each stop. Complete the map for a chance to win a prize. Be sure to stop at bonus locations outside of the downtown area for additional chances to win.<\/p>\n

Tickets start at $15 per person, with the option to upgrade to a $25 Golden Ticket and receive a commemorative wooden box to collect your chocolate treats.<\/p>\n

Paint Your Poison at the Art & Souls Gallery<\/strong><\/p>\n

Join them at the Art and Soul Gallery at 7:00 pm on Friday, October 14 for a night of spooky, painting fun and spirits. (Bring your own boos!)<\/p>\n

The Gallery is co-hosting with Paint Your Poison for a fall themed painting party. If you would like to join them, please vote on which piece you’d like to paint below. The winner will be announced next week. Stay tuned to sign up and reserve your spot.<\/p>\n
