She will discuss her memoir, <em>Into No Man&#8217;s Land: A Historical Memoir<\/em>, and share her message promoting tolerance and diversity.<\/p>\n<p>Miller will take you on a survival journey little written and known about. You will sleep in the winter under an open sky on the no man\u2019s land; you will freeze in a Siberian labor camp where the bears come to your door front. In Uzbekistan, you will live on boiled grass or broiled onions, and shiver with malaria. You will spend years in orphanages. When this is over you will wonder how a child with this background grows up to become a positive, creative, accomplished woman with a joy of living and love to share.<\/p>\n<p>It is a story of courage, determination, perseverance and the power of the human spirit.<\/p>\n<p>Copies of <em>Into No Man&#8217;s Land <\/em>will be available for purchase.<\/p>\n<p>Advance registration is required. <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/s85SYpTapbcgkfem8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #0000cc;\">Register here<\/span><\/a> or by calling the library at 989-224-4702.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Giving Paws Volunteer Training is April 13<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The mission of Giving Paws is to serve the community with trained support dogs. Their next Volunteer Training is Thursday, April 13 at 6:00 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>If you would like more information about the program please join them. Collectively the LOP has many years of experiences in nonprofit work, dog handling, business, education and community service.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout 2022 they did all the paperwork establishing Giving Paws as a legal 501(c)3 organization and policy work to ensure best practices of the Leaders of the Pack, volunteers and future staff. In 2023 the support dogs got their Paws on the Ground in the community.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Downtown Bunny Shop coming up April 6<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Shop downtown St. Johns on Thursday evening, April 6 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. for the Bunny Shop Event. There will be live music and of course the Easter Bunny. You can also register to win an Easter basket with every participating downtown purchase.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Community Baby Shower is April 19<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mark your calendars for Wednesday, April 19 to attend the Free Clinton County Community Baby Shower in St. Johns.<\/p>\n<p>If you are a pregnant mother or a mom\/dad of infants under 18 months, please join them Wednesday, April 19 from 9 a.m.-noon or 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at Grace Pointe Wesleyan Church. The location is next to Jade Garden Chinese Restaurant in the South Point Mall.<\/p>\n<p>Partners are welcome. Childcare <em>will not<\/em> be offered for this event, but babies in arms are welcome.<\/p>\n<p>Mini Educational Sessions include:<br \/>\n&#8211; Nutrition for Mom &amp; Baby Infant Safety: Car seats, safe sleep<br \/>\n&#8211; Basic CPR and First Aid for Choking Infant<br \/>\n&#8211; Dangers of Substance Exposure During Pregnancy &amp; Breastfeeding<br \/>\n&#8211; Healthy Snacks, Community Resource Tables &amp; Door Prizes!!! Babies in arms are<\/p>\n<p>This event is open to all Clinton County residents regardless of income.
