Maple Rapids Road, Eureka.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Office Housewarming scheduled for Friday, September 14<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/stjindy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/casaopen.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"394\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1853\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Voice for Clinton County&#8217;s Children welcomes everyone to join them for an Office Housewarming on Friday, September 14th from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>In conjunction with the Clinton County Arts Event, Arts Night Out, they will be giving tours of the office which is full of beautiful murals generously donated by the community and created by Tracie Davis. The wonderful murals create a welcoming, warm space for children to be heard.<\/p>\n<p>The office is located at 1207 N. US 27 in St. Johns, just to the west of Sundance and next to the bowling alley. This year&#8217;s event will be held on Friday September 14, 2018 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Downtown businesses will be opened for extended hours as they host local artists and musicians who will showcase their works and\/or talents.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Sparrow Clinton Hospital Community Health Fair<\/strong> &#8211; September 29<\/p>\n<p>Sparrow Clinton Hospital will host a Community Health Fair on Saturday, September 29 from 8:30 a.m. to Noon at AgroLiquid on the corner of M21 and DeWitt Road.<\/p>\n<p>Join them for this fun family event. Free flu shots for age 18 years and up, free health screenings, chair massages, children\u2019s car seat checks, medication drop-off, 30 health and lifestyle booths, farmers\u2019 market, the Fresh Food Fairy and her smoothie-making bicycle, and Love on a Leash therapy dogs will be there. This event is open to all Clinton County Residents.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Soup kitchen makes stops in area next week<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>His Cup Runneth Over, a mobile soup kitchen, will be making a stop at<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; First Congregational Church, 100 Maple Ave, St. Johns 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Tuesday, September 11 and at<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Beacon of Hope\/First Baptist Church, 512 S. US 27, St. Johns, from 5:30 p.m to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 11 and<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Suntree Apartments, 1100 Sunview Dr., St. Johns, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Thursday, September 13, and at<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; The Meadows of St. Johns, 2265 W. Parks Rd., St. Johns, from 3 pm to 5 pm, Thursday September 13.<\/p>\n<p>Soup, bread, fruit and dessert will be served to all who come free of charge. For more information call989-533-9535or989-544-5764.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Congressional App Challenge open to students<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Congressman John Moolenaar invites students in Michigan\u2019s Fourth Congressional District to enter the 2018 Congressional App Challenge. The contest is open to all K-12 students who can compete individually or in teams of up to four people. The winning individual or team from the Fourth District will have their app displayed in the U.S. Capitol. They will also have the option to attend an event in Washington D.C. where they will showcase their app alongside other winning students from across the United States.<\/p>\n<p>Entries must be submitted on the Congressional App Challenge website. Rules and a checklist for submissions are online at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.congressionalappchallenge.us\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><font color=\"#0000CC\">www.congressionalappchallenge.us<\/font><\/a>. The deadline for entry is Noon on October 15. Additional questions about the App Challenge can be directed to Congressman Moolenaar\u2019s Washington, D.C. office at 202-225-3561.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Leonard announces September office hours<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Speaker of the House Tom Leonard, R-DeWitt, will host office hours to meet with local residents and discuss their concerns about state government. Speaker Leonard represents Michigan\u2019s 93rd District.<\/p>\n<p>The coffee hour will take place on Friday, September 14 from 8:00 a.m. \u2013 9:30 a.m. at Big Boy, 1408 Old U.S. 27, St. Johns.<\/p>\n<p>Local residents are encouraged to bring comments, questions and concerns about local government and anything else happening in the local community.
