(Karber) Karkau died unexpectedly Thursday, August 30, 2018 at the age of 54. She was born December 8, 1963 in St. Johns the daughter of Richard and Donna (Droste) Karber.  Carmen attended The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and worked as a bookkeeper.<\/p>\n<p>Surviving are her children, Chase Cantrell and Rachel Karkau; two sisters, LeAnn (Brent) Blackman and Barbara (Jeff) Feldpausch; three brothers, Michael (Sharon) Karber, Wayne (Cam) Karber and Ken (Deb) Karber and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Jacob Cantrell.<\/p>\n<p>A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, September 23, 2018 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 300 E. Townsend Rd. St. Johns with Branch President Dan Earl officiating. Memorials may be made to the charity of donor\u2019s choice. The family was assisted with these arrangements by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.keckcolemanfh.com\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><font color=\"#0000CC\">Keck-Coleman Funeral Home<\/font><\/a>, St. Johns.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Larry L. Forbes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/stjindy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/forbes_larry.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"88\" height=\"128\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-2022\" \/>Larry L. Forbes, 76 of St. Johns passed away at Laurels of Carson City on Monday, September 3, 2018.  Larry was born on October 3, 1941 in Osceola County, MI the son of Louis and Leola (Ferguson) Forbes.  He worked for Motor Wheel Corp, Central Michigan Lumber and Waddel Farms.  On January 21, 1982 he married Debra L. Feneis in St. Johns, MI.<\/p>\n<p>Larry is survived by his wife Debby, son Scott (Lynette) Forbes of Elsie, daughter in law  Holly Forbes of Grand Rapids, grandchildren, Chelsea Forbes, Scott Jr. and Michael Forbes, great granddaughter Tori Forbes.  Sisters, Lynda McLeod of California, Jean Forbes of Ovid, Susan Rittenburgh of Ovid, Penny Linton of St. Johns, Amy Searles of Escanaba. Brother, Louis Forbes of St. Johns, MI, mother in law, Katherine Feneis and sister in law Suzi (Dennis) Brown of DeWitt, MI. He was preceded in death by his son, Adam Forbes in 2017 and siblings, Orvin Forbes, Robert Forbes and Ellen Wilson.<\/p>\n<p>Funeral services will be held at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. with burial to be at South Bingham Cemetery.  The family will receive friends and relatives at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.keckcolemanfh.com\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><font color=\"#0000CC\">Keck-Coleman Funeral Home<\/font><\/a> on Wednesday, September 5, 2018, 4-8P.M. Memorials may be given to the charity of the donor&#8217;s choice.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Scott  M. Beachler<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/stjindy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/beelchler_scott.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"91\" height=\"129\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-2023\" \/>Scott  M. Beachler, 42 of St. Johns died Saturday, September 1, 2018.  He was born on April 4, 1976 in Lansing, MI the son of David and Linda (Bunce) Beachler.  Scott worked in construction.<\/p>\n<p>Scott is survived by his parents of Breckenridge, MI., daughter, Desiree Beachler of Ovid, sons Zane Herrick and Zavier Beachler both of St. Johns; sister Donna Beachler of Breckenridge, MI, brother Johnny Beachler of Charlotte, MI, sister, Rachelle Beachler-Smith of St. Johns, nephew, Christopher Beachler of St. Johns, other nieces and nephews, Andrew, Nicole, Zoie, Julia, Selina and Dakota. He was preceded in death by his brother, Nathan in 2005.<\/p>\n<p>Service information will be available later.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Roberta &#8220;Robin&#8221; Ballard<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/stjindy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/ballard_roberta.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"91\" height=\"129\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-2016\" \/>Roberta &#8220;Robin&#8221; Ballard (Rice), (formerly Runyan), 79, of St. Johns, made her peaceful transition surrounded by family and her beloved cats, August 6.<\/p>\n<p>Robin was born in Flint, MI to Ashley Rice and Alberta (Eckles) Rice and lived in Mason, MI. Robin graduated from MSU and Cooley Law School (Suma Cum Laude). She practiced law and lived in St. Johns.<\/p>\n<p>Robin will be terribly missed by her loving family, husband Kenneth A. Ballard, children, Laura Runyan, Claudia Runyan, Colleen Runyan Bethea and Charles Runyan (and Gary Eminger), as well as 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.<\/p>\n<p>A memorial service will be held in early October. Details will be published on the Unity Spiritual Center of Lansing&#8217;s website and Facebook.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Michael Eugene Eaton<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/stjindy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/eaton_michael.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"91\" height=\"129\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-2012\" \/>Michael Eugene \u201cMike\u201d Eaton, age 58 of Lansing, MI, passed away Saturday, September 1, 2018, at his home after a short battle with cancer.<\/p>\n<p>Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes &#8211; Osgood Chapel, St. Johns, MI, at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 5, 2018.  Burial will take place at South Bingham Township Cemetery, St. Johns, MI. Visitation will be held 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Mike was born in Lansing, Michigan on August 25, 1960, the son Wesley and Margaret (Bayliss) Eaton.  He attended Rodney B. Wilson High School, St. Johns, Michigan.  Mike was an avid fisherman and hunter.  On July 18, 2018, Mike married Treasa Svacha Hetrick at their home and she survives him.<\/p>\n<p>Mike  is survived by his wife Treasa Eaton; son: Michael Eaton; and  step-son:  Glen Hetrick.  He is also survived by 7 sisters:  Debra (Eldean) Wickerham, Barbara (Gary) Markman, Eugenia Eaton, Linda (Michael) Eaton-Cook, Maud (Terry) Farr, Treva (Jodie) Eaton, and Alicia Wilson-Eaton; and a brother Isaac Wilson-Eaton and many nieces and nephews.  Michael was preceded in death by his parents, and brother: Clell Eaton.<\/p>\n<p>Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
