Lessons are available for kids aged 4-10 years old.<\/p>\n<p>Classes take place at the St. Johns High School Pool. Children should be able to enter the water without their parents and be able to follow instructions. Brick sales will end in the next few weeks so that the walkway can be completed by securing the bricks.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Beaded jewelry classes at Clinton County Arts Gallery <\/strong> &#8211; March 17<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/miserybay.usanethosting.com\/indylite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/beading.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"171\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-9327\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Bead a bracelet that is easy to make and introduces you to two basic beading stitches. The beginner, as well as the advanced beader, will enjoy doing this piece. The Workshop will be taught at 215 N. Clinton Avenue in St. Johns on Saturday, March 17, 2018 from 9:30 a.m to 3:30 p.m. with a break for lunch.<\/p>\n<p>The fee is $40 which includes hands-on and written instructions plus all needed supplies. Payment is due in advance. The minimum age is 14. The class will be taught by Deborah Laverty who has been Beading for more than 20 years.<br \/>\nTo reserve a spot, contact the Gallery at (989) 224-2429.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Briggs District Library News<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>March is Reading Month<\/em> \u2013 Pets! Pets! Pets! \u2013 There are still three FREE programs remaining for our March is Reading Month celebration! Next is \u201cCat vs. Dog\u201d for ages 3 and 4 years old (independent listeners) on Tuesday, March 13, 6:30-7:30pm. \u201cWhat Pet Should I Get\u201d is on Tuesday, March 20, 6:30-7:30 pm and will be for 5 and 6 year olds. \u201cPaw, Claws, Feathers and Fins\u201d for ages 7 thru 9 is on Tuesday, March 27, 6:30-7:30 pm. Related stories, music, craft and snacks will be provided for all programs. Registration for all programs is required and open at this time.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cSpring\u201d into Toddler Storytime<\/em> \u2013 Children ages 2-3 (with a participating adult) Our evening session is full but there are still a few openings in the morning session, Thursday mornings, 10:30-11 am, March 22 thru April 26. We will celebrate \u201cspring\u201d weather, animals, bugs, flowers and more with stories, music, movement, crafts and a game or two. Registration is required.<\/p>\n<p><em>Easter Egg Fun<\/em> \u2013 Get your \u201cbunny on\u201d and register for this \u201choppin\u201d good program. We invite children ages 2- 5 (with an adult) to register for this \u201cmost egg-celent\u201d program on Saturday, March 24, 10:30-11:30. There will be \u201cbunny tales\u201d, a spring craft, a tasty snack and an Easter Egg Hunt in the library for children registered for the program. Registration is required.<\/p>\n<p><em>Mystery Dinner Library Event<\/em> \u2013 The library is inviting the community to join us for a special evening of dinner, drinks, and entertainment on Saturday, March 24, when we will be hosting a 1920s-themed mystery dinner event! Doors will open for the evening at 6:00p.m, dinner will be served at 6:30 and entertainment starts at 7:00pm. Tickets cost $50 per person, and may be purchased at the Library.<\/p>\n<p><em>Chef\u2019s Surprise<\/em>&#8211; During this session of chef\u2019s surprise, children ages 7-10 will have the opportunity to learn how to use a blender and prepare pie crust while making fruit smoothies and homemade hand pies. We are inviting children to our spring break fruity fun on Wednesday, April 4 from 10:30- 12:30. Registration is required.<\/p>\n<p><em>Spring Program<\/em> &#8211; \u201cEgg-stra, Egg-stra read all about it\u201d Ages 4-6 (independent listeners) are invited to join us on Monday, April 9 from 6:30-7:30 for a night of \u201cegg-citing\u201d stories, \u201cegg-tastic\u201d games\/music\/movement, and an \u201cegg-cellent\u201d snack. Registration is required and will begin on Monday, March 12.<\/p>\n<p><strong>LEGO Block Party<\/strong>&#8211; There will be plenty of LEGO building fun and games on Monday, April 16 from 6:30-7:30 at this family friendly event. This program is open to all whom wish to attend and it will be held at Lowe United Methodist Church, 5484 W Lowe Rd, St. Johns. Registration for this event is appreciated and will begin on Monday, March 19.<\/p>\n<p><em>Spring Break Activities<\/em> \u2013 Make It and Take It Crafts \/ LEGO TIME \u2013 The Library is offering a Make-It and Take-It Crafts time on Tuesday, April 3. Craft materials will be on tables in the youth area for all to create their own masterpieces. LEGO Block building is offered on Wednesday, April 4. LEGO blocks will be put out in the youth area and meeting room for all to enjoy. Both passive programs will be available from 10:00 \u2013 11:30am and 2:30 \u2013 4:00pm. Registration is not required. Young children must be accompanied by an adult.<\/p>\n<p><em>Tales to Tails <\/em>\u2013 15 minute sessions for children ages 6-12 to practice reading aloud to Ruger, a certified therapy dog. Sessions occur on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month from 6:30-7:15. Registration is required and is currently open.<\/p>\n<p><em>Tween Program<\/em> \u2013 It\u2019s going to be \u201cBot Night\u201d at our next Tween program. Tweens ages 9-12 can join us on Tuesday, April 3 from 6:30-7:30 when we create Bristle Bots! We will be using small batteries, motors, and brushes (like the head of a toothbrush) to make our very own robot that will walk across the table. Space is limited, and registration for this free event is now open.<\/p>\n<p><em>Traveling Poets Reading<\/em> \u2013 Lansing\u2019s first Poet Laureate, Dennis Hinrichsen, will be at the library on Tuesday, April 17 at 6:30p.m. He, along with other local poets, will read and talk about their work, while introducing us to different styles of poetry.
