Loomis Brothers jamboree is January 20<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Eureka Church will be hosting a jamboree with the Loomis Brothers on January 20 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Eureka Church, 2619 E. Maple Rapids Road, Eureka.<\/p>\n

Bring your family and friends, and enjoy an evening of gospel music.<\/p>\n

Free Poetry Workshops<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dennis Hinrichsen returns to Deb’s Sereni-TEA Lounge for free poetry workshops. This is a two hour session workshop. Sessions will be held on Saturday January 19 and January 26 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.<\/p>\n

The workshop is for beginning writers, high school and above. Participants will go through the drafting, writing, revising, and presenting process.<\/p>\n

Dennis Hinrichsen has written seven poetry books. He received his Masters of Fine Arts in Poetry from University of Iowa. He has also taught for 25 yrs at Lansing Community College.<\/p>\n

Nerf Battles are January 25<\/strong><\/p>\n

Join the City of St. Johns Recreation Department for this months Friday Night Special, Nerf Battles, on January 25.<\/p>\n

\"\"Children will be participating in many different Nerf based games. Each child will be given 10 bullets to start, bullets can be collected as the battles continues. Teams will be made up onsite with children present. This event is for children in the 3rd through 12th grade. Students 3rd through 5th grade will be from 6:00 to 7:00 pm; Middle School aged students will take place 7:30 to 8:30 pm; High school aged students will take place from 9:00 to 10:00 p.m.<\/p>\n

Each child must bring their own eye protection and Nerf gun, of any size, we will provide the bullets, guns must shoot N Strike Elite Bullets. Games will begin promptly at times published so please arrive early enough to get checked in and the proper paperwork filled out. The cost to participate in this activity is $5 per participant.<\/p>\n

Winter Swim\/Open Gym Activities<\/strong><\/p>\n

Winter Swim Activities<\/em>
\nThe City of St Johns offers swim programs at the St. Johns High School’s pool. Aqua Therapy\/ Lap Swim will take place on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. They also offer a morning Adult Lap Swim from 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and Evening Adult Lap Swim from 8:15 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. on Wednesdays and Friday. The cost is $5 per visit, or you can purchase a pass for $50 which is good for 12 visits.<\/p>\n

Open Swim<\/em> is on Friday nights from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The cost is $4 for adults $3 for children and a $10 family rate. To access the pool please use the activities entrance on the west side of the high school and use the family changing room to enter the pool.<\/p>\n

Open Gym Activities<\/em>
\nThe City of St. Johns also offer adult open gym activities at the Wilson Center. Open gym volleyball takes place on Monday nights from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. starting January 7. Open gym pickleball take place on Tuesday mornings from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and Thursday nights from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., starting the week of January 7. Open gym basketball take place on Wednesday nights starting January 9 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.<\/p>\n

The cost to attend each open gym activity is $4 per night, or you can purchase an open gym pass for $20 good for 6 visits. One pass can be used for multiple activities. Arts Council needs volunteers<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Clinton County Arts Council would love for you to join them at the Art Gallery over the next couple months. Several of their volunteers will be out of state and unavailable for various reasons.<\/p>\n
