Children who will be 5 years old on or by September 1, 2019 are eligible to attend school in the fall. Students turning 5 after September 2, 2019 up until December 1, 2019 will have an opportunity to attend this program this fall.<\/p>\n<p>For more information <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sjredwings.org\/aboutus\/studentenrollment\/kindergarten-registration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"color: #0000cc;\">visit the website<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Laser tag is March 16<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bring the family and join the City of St. Johns Recreation Department Saturday March 16 from 4-8 pm as we bring laser tag to the Wilson Center Gym. Each session will last 1 hour, participants will be divided into four teams of 10, or less, where they will play against the other 3 teams.<\/p>\n<p>Team will be made up by those who pre-register and pay in advanced. Those who don\u2019t pre-register and pay in advance are not guaranteed a spot. You may request someone that has already registered to be on your team or get a team of 10 and sign up. The minimum age for this activity is 8 years old, and adults can partake in the fun as well! Children under the age of 12 must have a parent or guardian (18 and over) on site with them during that session.<\/p>\n<p>The cost of this activity is $12 per participant, St. Johns School District Residents can register anytime, and Non-District Residents can register starting March 3. The deadline to register for this activity is March 14th or until full. Join us for an hour of &#8220;weather&#8221; stories, sound effects, experiments, movement + lots of fun! Registration is required and opens on Monday, March 11th.<\/p>\n<p><em>Play-Doh Play Time<\/em> &#8211; Plenty of creative fun to be had on Monday, April 15, 6:30-7:30 pm. Lowe Rd., St. Johns.<\/p>\n<p><em>Easter Egg Hunt<\/em> &#8211; Children ages 2-5 accompanied by an adult are invited to join us for an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 13, 10:30-11:30 am. We provide a decorated egg carton for the children to find a dozen eggs with prizes inside hidden somewhere in the Library. This program also includes a story, craft and game. Registrations is required and opens on Saturday, March 16th.<\/p>\n<p><em>Spring Break Programs<\/em> &#8211; Drop in and &#8220;Make It and Take It Crafts&#8221; on Tuesday, March 26th and &#8220;LEGO Building&#8221; on Wednesday, March 27th. Both programs will be available from 10:00-11:30am or 2:30-4pm. All children must be accompanied by an adult. No registration necessary.<\/p>\n<p><em>Cartoon and Craft<\/em> &#8211; Children ages 6-9 are invited to join us on Monday, April 1st, 6:30-7:30pm for an evening of fun where we will watch a short cartoon and make a special surprise to take home. Registration is required and begins Monday, March 4th.<\/p>\n<p><em>Euchre Club<\/em> &#8211; This is a fun, free, social club, with no buy-in or cost to play. Seating is limited, so advance registration is required, and you can register as an individual or as partners. We play round robin-style, so registered partners will play together the first round, but new partnerships will be formed in each round thereafter. Our next meeting is Friday, March 22 from 6:00-9:00.<\/p>\n<p><em>March is Reading Month<\/em> &#8211; We&#8217;re celebrating the 50th anniversary of The Very Hungry Caterpillar with stories, snacks, crafts, and games all related to author Eric Carle! Three programs to choose from on Tuesday, March 5 (ages 3-4), March 12 (ages 5-6), and March 19 (ages 5-9), 6:30-7:30. Registration will be required for all programs and is currently open.<\/p>\n<p><em>Maker Program<\/em> &#8211; Our next afterschool maker program is all about fandom! On Wednesday, March 20 from 3:30-5:00, tweens and teens ages 10 and up can make their own fandom-themed silhouette jar. Hamilton or Harry Potter, fairies or stars, whatever it is you geek can be celebrated at this free program. This is a self-directed program, so participants are free to create for the full 90 minutes, but are free to leave when their project is complete. Registration for this program is required, and is now open.<\/p>\n<p><em>Toddler Storytime<\/em> &#8220;Puppet Play and Stuffie Fun&#8221; &#8211; ages 2-3 with adult participation. Each week we will enjoy a different theme with stuffed animals and puppets. There will be stories, music, crafts, movement and activities that go with each week&#8217;s theme. The 6-week session runs March 21st &#8211; April 25th. You can choose between Thursday mornings, 10:30-11am or Thursday evenings, 6:30-7pm. Registration is required and open now.<\/p>\n<p><em>Tweens<\/em> &#8211; We will be crafting with duct tape at our next Tween program! Tweens ages 9-12 can join us on Tuesday, March 26 from 6:30-7:30 when we will work together to make simple duct tape crafts. Registration for this free program is required, and is now open.<\/p>\n<p><em>Chef&#8217;s Surprise<\/em> &#8211; Budding chefs ages 7-10 can join us Wednesday, March 27th, 10:30-Noon, when we will learn to make some blow your mind breakfast. Registration is required for this program and will begin February 27th.<\/p>\n<p><em>Bookaholics Book Club<\/em> &#8211; Our &#8220;Books and Films&#8221; theme continues in March when we will read Forrest Gump by Winston Groom. Copies of the book are now available. The club meets Thursday, March 21 at 6:30 in the bay window seating area of the library.<\/p>\n<p><em>Tales to Tails<\/em> &#8211; 15 minute sessions for children ages 6-12 to practice reading aloud to Ruger, a certified therapy dog. Ruger will be at the library the following Thursday evenings from 6:30-7:30: 3\/14 and 3\/28, 4\/11 and 4\/25, 5\/9 and 5\/23.
