Fox<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/stjindy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/fox_joan.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"91\" height=\"129\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-4999\" \/>Joan M. Fox died Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at the age of 75. She was born May 5, 1944 in Ovid, MI the daughter of Robert and Agnes (Unterbrink) Klockziem.  Joan was a member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post # 4005 in Corunna and was a homemaker, providing loving care to all her family. On July 23, 1966 she married James C. Fox and he survives her.<\/p>\n<p>Also surviving is one daughter, Julie Fox; one son, Jary (Erica) Fox; four grandchildren, Zachary (Josie) Fox, Madison Fox, Katelyn Fox and fianc\u00e9e Justin Van Buskirk and Emma Fox; two brothers, Charlie (Barb) Klockziem, Phil (Debbie) Klockziem; one sister, Kristine Klockziem; three sisters \u2013 in \u2013 law, Pat, Brooke and Darlene Klockziem and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son Eric and three brothers, Ron, Tom and Bill Klockziem.<\/p>\n<p><em>A memorial gathering will be held Saturday, July 13, 2019<\/em> from 2-6 PM at the VFW Hall 416 S. Shiawassee St. in Corunna, MI 48817. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. The family was assisted with these arrangements by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.keckcolemanfh.com\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><font color=\"#0000CC\">Keck-Coleman Funeral Home<\/font><\/a>, St. Johns.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Christine A. Bowman<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/stjindy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/bowman_christine.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"91\" height=\"129\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-5099\" \/>Christine A. Bowman died Thursday, June 27, 2019 at the age of 66. She was born December 15, 1952 in St. Johns, Michigan and was the daughter of Ted and Thelma (Battie) Bedell.  Chris was a retail store manager during her working career, managing a large home improvement store in Salt Lake City, Utah. Chris was also an entrepreneur, owning her own store located in the Cottonwood Mall. Chris spent the last part of her life living in St. Johns after raising her son, Andrew, in the same community.<\/p>\n<p>Surviving is Jay Bowman who loved her very much; one son, Andrew Bowman; one sister, Sally Bailey; two brothers, Ted (Karen) Bedell and Robert (Cindy) Bedell and several nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n<p>Knowing her life would be shortened, Chris looked forward to joining her parents so she could once again \u201cdance up a storm.\u201d Christine was a loving, thoughtful woman and will be missed by all that knew her.<\/p>\n<p>Following Christine\u2019s wishes, cremation has taken place and a family gathering celebrating her life will be held at a later date. The family was assisted with these arrangements by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.keckcolemanfh.com\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><font color=\"#0000CC\">Keck-Coleman Funeral Home<\/font><\/a>, St. Johns.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Mark L. Schafer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/stjindy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/schafer_mark.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"91\" height=\"129\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-5093\" \/>Mark L. Schafer died Saturday, July 6, 2019 at the age of 86. He was born April 13, 1933 in Fowler, MI the son of Joseph M. and Dora (Schueller) Schafer.  Mark was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Johns and was a life member of the Knights of Columbus. He served in the Army during the Korean War and enjoyed fishing, bowling, playing cards, doing crafts, cooking and farming. On October 22, 1957 he married Arleita Jury.  Mark drove a gasoline delivery truck for Hammond Oil Company for five years then went to work for Federal Mogul Corp. retiring in 1994 after 30 years of service.<\/p>\n<p>He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Arleita; four sons, Gary (Sue) of Goodrich, Bruce (Lois) of St. Johns, Terry (Amy) of Fowler and Kevin of St. Johns; two daughters, Sandra Schafer (Allen Dault) of St. Johns and Brenda (Randy) Antes of Fowler; 19 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; two step grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; two brothers, Anthony (Rose) of N.C. and Jerry of St. Johns and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Nancy; an infant son, John; great grandson, Reese; his parents; four brothers; five sisters; a niece and two nephews.<\/p>\n<p>Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church 109 Linden St. Johns with Rev. Fr. Michael Williams as Celebrant. Rite of Committal will follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery with military honors provided by the St. Johns Honor Guard. The family will receive relatives and friends 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Tuesday at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.keckcolemanfh.com\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><font color=\"#0000CC\">Keck-Coleman Funeral Home<\/font><\/a>, St. Johns.  A rosary will be prayed at 3:00 PM on Tuesday and a K of C Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM Tuesday both at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to Great Lakes Caring 1011 US 27 #A St. Johns, MI 48879.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Vineta Hilt<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/stjindy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/hilt_vineta1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"91\" height=\"129\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-5089\" \/>Vineta Silm Burk Hilt, former resident of St. Johns, transitioned to her heavenly home on August 3, 2018.  Vineta Silm was born and lived in Clinton County; confirmed Lutheran and attended St. Peter Riley Lutheran Church, where she married Gerald Burk. They raised four children together until he was killed in a farm accident.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/stjindy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/hilt_vineta2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"91\" height=\"129\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-5090\" \/>After moving her children to a new home in Florida she met and married Pat Hilt who helped raise her children as his own. As empty nesters, Vineta and Pat both worked and enjoyed trips abroad to Europe and to other nations in the Americas until she was again widowed in 1995. After her daughter Shirley passed in 2002 she moved to Georgia. After her move to Georgia, Vineta was an active member of Hollydale United Methodist church in Marietta, Ga. until health issues cut her participation to the prayer chain only. She will be missed by many. She lived an active life on her own in Georgia from 2002 until 2017, when a fractured femur placed her among loving caretakers until she went to her final home on August 3, 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Survivors include her daughter Deb (Wayne) Marchman, her son William Burk, grandchildren Larry Crawford, Tammy Hill, April Chavez, Travis Tomlinson, Ryan Burk, and their families. In addition to her husbands, Gerald and Pat, she was predeceased by her parents, Lewis and Ruth Silm, her brother and sister in law Lavern and Betty Silm, and daughters Melanie Young and Shirley Burk.<\/p>\n<p><em>A Memorial Service for friends and family of Vineta will be held 10:30 a.m. July 24, 2019 at St. Peter Riley Lutheran Church.<\/em><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Michael A. Jorae<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/stjindy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/jorae_michael.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"91\" height=\"129\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-5086\" \/>Michael A. Jorae, 62, of Coldwater, MS passed away June 22, 2019. Michael attended St. Johns High Schol, St. Johns, MI and graduated in 1976.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Jorae leaves behind his father, Dale Leroy (Mary) Jorae of Okeechobee, FL; sisters, Nancy (Mark) Jacobs of Coldwater, MS and Connie (Chuck) Jorae Drouin of Myrtle Beach, SC; brother, Edwin Jorae of McLean, VA and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Gloria Jorae and brothers, Jackie and Jamie Jorae.<\/p>\n<p>Michael&#8217;s cremated remains will be buried on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 4 PM at Maple Grove Cemetery, E. Elm Street, Ovid, Michigan 48866.<\/p>\n<p>In lieu of traditional gifts, memorials can be made in honor of Michael Anthony Jorae to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cancer.org\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><font color=\"#0000CC\">American Cancer Society<\/font><\/a> or Capital Area Humane.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Theresa Ann Hefty<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/stjindy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/hefty_theresa.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"91\" height=\"129\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-5081\" \/>Theresa Ann (Dieter) Hefty, age 87, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 1, 2019. Born in Fowler, MI, on January 11, 1932, the daughter of Roy and Mary (Cook) Dieter. She attended school at Most Holy Trinity, Fowler Public High, and Cosmetology College. She married Robert Hefty of St Johns, MI on November 8, 1952. They were married 54 years before he passed in 2006.<\/p>\n<p>She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. She enjoyed many hobbies and was talented at flower arranging and quilting. Theresa enjoyed traveling, playing games and painting to name a few. Theresa was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be missed by many.<\/p>\n<p>She is survived by her children, Becky (Garret) Fedewa, Marsha (Bruce) Mohnsen, Jim (Sharon) Hefty, Steve (Sheri) Hefty and Tom Hefty; grandma Tree\u2019s grandchildren, Katie, Yvonne, Dan, Sharlotte, Tami, Abigail, Mike, Nick, Amanda, Chris, Dave, Nicole, Thomas and Alisha; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Marie Cooper and Judy (Bill) Fox; sister in law, Bev Barnum; brother in law, Ron Blood; many nephews, nieces and good friends also survive. She was preceded by brothers, Burl (Ada) Dieter and Bruce (Kay) Dieter; sister in laws, Helen (Russel) Ging and Mary Blood; brother in law, Larry Cooper.<\/p>\n<p>The Celebration of the Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, July 5, 2019, 11:00 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Rev Fr. John Byers as celebrant. Rite of committal will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends, Wednesday, July 3, 2019, from 5-8 PM at the Palmer, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.palmerbush.com\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><font color=\"#0000CC\">Bush &#038; Jensen Family Funeral Home<\/font><\/a>, Holt Chapel, 5035 W. Holt Rd., Holt, MI. Visitation will continue at the church on Friday one hour prior to the service.
