Meyer passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 1, 2019 at the age of 93. She was born May 3, 1926 in Chassell, MI the daughter of Joseph and Blanche (Prudhom) Diedrick.  Mary graduated from Chassell High School and attended Soumi College. She was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Johns, serving on several groups and committees.<\/p>\n<p>Mary was a volunteer for St. Vincent De Paul in St. Johns for several years and for over 30 years she was the owner \/ operator of the Treasure Chest Hallmark Shop in St. Johns.  In recent years she was the self-proclaimed Mayor of Grace Haven Assisted Living.  On June 22, 1946 she married Frederick \u201cFred\u201d Meyer, and he preceded her in death in 2005.<\/p>\n<p>Surviving are eight daughters, Mary Kay (Tom) Cady of Perry, Debbie Masarik of St. Johns, Kam Meyer of St. Johns, Jane (Steve) Church of DeWitt, Patti (Chris) Albright of Lansing, Kelley (Ron) Readman of Fenton, Stephanie Meyer of St. Johns and Shawn (Hector) Ortiz of Tolleson, AZ; nineteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter and one brother, Larry (Barb) Diedrick of Howell. She was predeceased by an infant son, Steven and two brothers.<\/p>\n<p>Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Monday, August 5, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 109 Linden St. Johns with Rev. Fr. Douglas Osborn as Celebrant. Rite of Committal will follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends 2-4 and 6-8 PM Sunday, August 4 at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.keckcolemanfh.com\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><font color=\"#0000CC\">Keck-Coleman Funeral Home<\/font><\/a>, St. Johns. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Vincent De Paul, 1009 S. US 27, St. Johns, MI 48879 or St. Joseph Educational Trust Fund.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Angeline P. Phelps<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Angeline P. \u201cAngie\u201d Phelps died Sunday, July 28, 2019 at the age of 81. She was born November 1, 1937 in Wolf County, Kentucky the daughter of William and Mabel (Schalford) Ely.  Angie was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.<\/p>\n<p>Surviving is a daughter, LeAnn Voightritter. She was preceded in death by a son, Steven Wadsworth and a daughter, Sheila Wadsworth.<\/p>\n<p>Cremation has taken place and there will be no services. The family was assisted with these arrangements by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.keckcolemanfh.com\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><font color=\"#0000CC\">Keck-Coleman Funeral Home<\/font><\/a> , St. Johns.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Randy J. Ingalls<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/stjindy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/ingalls_randy.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"91\" height=\"129\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-5306\" \/>On July 7, 2019 Randy J. Ingalls of Mesa Arizona passed away at the age of 58. He was born November 3, 1960 in Norfolk Virginia, the son of Larry and Linda (Lovegrove) Ingalls. He graduated from Saint Johns High school and later obtained his bachelors degree. He was an entrepreneur and ran an IT business along with other small ventures for many years. He was an avid hunter and also enjoyed fishing. He had an archery shop, produced a public television show about hunting, and taught his girls from a young age to hunt and fish because of his love and passion for the sport. He also enjoyed riding his Harley and exploring the Arizona desert on his Rzr.<\/p>\n<p>He is survived by his daughters Cortney Ingalls, Danielle Felder, Shelby Ingalls and grandchildren Jason Felder Jr., Natalie Hill, and Jayden Felder.<\/p>\n<p>A public memorial service will be held July 31, 2019 from 4-8 at the Riley Township Hall in DeWitt, Michigan.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Barbara E. Halstead<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/stjindy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/Halstead_Barbara.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"91\" height=\"129\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-5303\" \/>Barbara E. Halstead died Friday July 26, 2019 at the age of 84. She was born December 5, 1934 in Altoona, AL the daughter of Virgil and Rhoda (Lindley) Cone. Barb had a varied working career but primarily she was a homemaker for her family. Some of the places she worked was at Parr\u2019s Pharmacy, for Willard Searles and Searles Construction as a bookkeeper and for a short time at Wal-Mart. Barb attended the Nazarene Church in St. Johns. On December 31, 1950 she married Ronald \u201cJack\u201d Halstead and he preceded her in death in 2012.<\/p>\n<p>Surviving are three daughters, Joyce Halstead of Apex, NC, Sherry (Michael) Montague of Raleigh, NC, and Cindy Halstead of Lynchburg, VA; two sons, Ronald of St. Johns and John (Carolyn) of Lansing; eleven grandchildren and soon to be twenty great grandchildren; two brothers, Clyde and Bill Cone both of Butler, NC. She was predeceased by a daughter and son in law, Robin and Harvey Chamberlain and two brothers, Lee and Kenneth Cone.<\/p>\n<p>Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.keckcolemanfh.com\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><font color=\"#0000CC\">Keck-Coleman Funeral Home<\/font><\/a>, St. Johns with Rev. Randall Rucker officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Tuesday July 30 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Nazarene Church of St. Johns or Disabled Veterans Association.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Melvin Dale Frost<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/stjindy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/frost_melvin.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"91\" height=\"129\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-5300\" \/>Melvin Dale Frost, 92, of St. Johns, MI, joined his loving children, Adele and Russ on July 26, 2019.<\/p>\n<p>A private family gathering will be held at a later date.<\/p>\n<p>Melvin was born in his parents home on July 4, 1927, to William and Mable (Bloom) Frost, where his brother celebrated by setting fireworks off under the window.  He grew up on his family farm in Clinton County. Melvin helped his dad farm until he and his wife, Janice (Creaser), bought his family farm and also Janice&#8217;s family homestead. Melvin retired from Federal Mogul in St. Johns.<\/p>\n<p>Melvin is survived by his loving wife, Janice of 71 years, his daughter Jo Anne (Ron) Litwiller, and daughter Connie (Tom) Allen: 27 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, daughter, son, and in laws.<\/p>\n<p>The family is being served by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.smithfamilyfuneralhomes.com\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><font color=\"#0000CC\">Smith Family Funeral Homes<\/font><\/a> &#8211; Osgood Chapel, St. Johns, MI.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Carol James Burns<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/stjindy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/burns_carol.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"91\" height=\"129\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-5296\" \/>Carol James \u201cCJ\u201d Burns died Thursday, July 25, 2019 at the age of 78. He was born October 5, 1940 in Hubbardston, MI, the son of Owen and Mary Bernice (Hogan) Burns. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Johns and enjoyed farming, reading, and taking long walks through St. Johns City Park. Carol loved spending time with his grandchildren and had a passion for crossword puzzles. He retired from Oldsmobile as a machine repair journeyman with more than 30 years of service. On November 24, 1962, he married Diane Rademacher, and she survives him.<\/p>\n<p>Also surviving is one daughter, Brenda (Jerry) Grimes of Plymouth, MI; three sons, Bryan (Lora) of Carrollton, GA, Eric (Joni) of Holt, MI, and Kevin (Jennifer) of Vienna, VA; grandchildren Derek, Austin, Breana (Rick), Anya, Mady, Seth, Kyle, Blake, Katie, Ellen, Grace, William, and Caroline; one great grandson, Tyler; one sister, Rosemary (Jim) Blashill; and two brothers, Michael Burns and Norm (Jeanne) Burns. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ron Burns; two sisters, Jean Ann (William) Schafer and Betty Burns; one brother-in-law, Clare Pung; and three sisters-in-law, Shirley Burns, Geri Hansens, and Janet Barberio.<\/p>\n<p>A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 109 Linden, St. Johns with Rev. Fr. Michael Williams officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday, July 30 at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.keckcolemanfh.com\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><font color=\"#0000CC\">Keck-Coleman Funeral Home<\/font><\/a>, St. Johns.
