Since 2009 Homegrown Productions has added to the holiday spirit in our community with a musical variety show. This year thy are proud to present \u201cUh Oh, Here Comes Christmas,\u201d a play based on the books by Robert Fulghum.<\/p>\n

Heartwarming stories and musical interludes look at the struggle to find the spirit of the holidays amid the avalanche of commercialism, stress and chaos that crashes down every December. Delightful stories include hilarious musings about a love\/hate relationship with the vibrant poinsettia that arrives in most homes every December and hangs on long after the holidays have ended; and a beautiful, deeply moving tribute to the winter solstice, celebrating nature’s precious annual gift of rebirth.<\/p>\n

\u201cUh, Oh, Here Comes Christmas\u201d is directed by Beth Webb and Susan DeRosa. This year\u2019s cast members are Sara Craft, Susan DeRosa, Jan Ross, Darryl Schmitz, Beth Webb, and Tom Webb. This is a family friendly show. Performances are December 6 and 7 at 7:30 pm at the Wilson Center Auditorium, 101 W. Cass St. Tickets are $10 at the door.<\/p>\n

Holiday Concert at the Wilson Center coming up December 8<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Mountain Town Brass Band, an elite brass band made up of some of the top brass players in the state of Michigan, will be performing a Holiday Concert at the Wilson Center in St. Johns on Sunday, December 8 at 7:00 p.m.<\/p>\n

The band will feature many holiday favorites such as “Deck the Halls”, “The Hallelujah Chorus from Handel’s Messiah”, Leroy Anderson’s “A Christmas Festival” and more.<\/p>\n

The band will also feature principal euphonious Cassandra Black on \u201cAve Maria\u201d and principal cornet Matthew Taton on \u201cShake My Yoke”. The band is under the direction of Jacob Bender.<\/p>\n

The concert is free to the public, but a good will donation will be accepted.<\/p>\n

Festival of Lights and Santa Parade is December 6<\/strong><\/p>\n

Candy Explosion! Don\u2019t miss the new Gingerbread Village on Friday evening, December 6. The life-size Gingerbread house will be bursting with sweet treats provided by Cedar Creek Hospital of St. Johns.<\/p>\n

There will be lots of new excitement in the works, along with all the past favorites including:
\nLighted Putt Putt Mini Golf, Candy Explosion, Ginger Bread House, Horse Drawn Wagon Rides, Tunnel of Lights, Vivid Holograms, Train Rides on the SJ Express Train, Rides on the lighted \u201cRails to Trails,\u201d Jolly and Holly the talking trees, Live Nativity, Sawdust Santa making wooden toys with kids, Santa\u2019s Workshop, Storytelling with Santa at the Library, Kids crafts, creating stockings and cookie making, Face painting, 4H bake sale, Scavenger Hunt, Scenic wagon rides around decorated homes, Snoopy House and Charlie Brown, Bonfire and marshmallow roasting, “Whoville Hair” updos, Train Depot Tours and Voting for best decorated home.<\/p>\n

The Santa Parade will line up at 5:00 p.m. behind courthouse. It will culminate in the annual Lighting of the Christmas Tree at the foot of Clinton Avenue.<\/p>\n
