Fr. Dennis Howard officiating.  Burial will take place at Most Holy Trinity Cemetery, Fowler, MI.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2019 from 6-8 P.M. and on Friday, December 13, 2019 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. with a Rosary being prayed at 8:00 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes &#8211; Goerge Chapel, Fowler, MI.<\/p>\n<p> Alan was born in Fowler, MI on August 26, 1924 the son of John and Helen (Halfman) Kramer.  Alan married Therese Feldpausch on June 30, 1948.  He resided all of his life in Fowler. Alan retired as the Postmaster in Fowler with the United States Postal Service.  He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing.  Alan taught hunter safety for many years and was a founding member of the Fowler Conservation Club.  He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II, involved in the D-Day landing and was an active member with the Fowler VFW.  Alan was also an active member with Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church.<\/p>\n<p> He is survived by his wife Therese Kramer of Fowler, MI; daughter Judy and Jim Gormley of Dorr, MI; son Steve and Elaine Kramer of Fowler, MI; son Ken and Alice Kramer of Pewamo, MI; son Jim Kramer of Illinois; daughter Deb Kramer of Lansing, MI; daughter Linda Kramer of Lansing, MI; 18 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and sister Alice Pline of Fowler, MI.  Alan was preceded in death by his parents, son Donald Kramer, brother Donald Kramer, and sisters Eunice Wirth, and Arlene Mueller.<\/p>\n<p> Memorials may be made to the Fowler VFW or to the wishes of the Kramer family. Messer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/stjindy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/messer_floyd.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"91\" height=\"129\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-6691\" \/>Floyd A. Messer died Monday, December 9, 2019 at the age of 91. He was born September 11, 1928 in Maple Rapids, MI the son of Olm and Avis (Moss) Messer. Floyd was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fowler and was an active civic leader in his younger years.<\/p>\n<p>He was a former Lebanon Township Supervisor, Fowler School Board Member, 4-H Leader and Masonic Lodge member. He coached Little League Baseball and enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking. Floyd worked for Sealed Power and retired with 42 years of service. On June 19, 1948 he married Wava Fields and she preceded him in death in 2006.<\/p>\n<p>Surviving is one daughter, Sandra (Dennis) Simon of Fowler; three sons, Doug (Toni) of Cicero, IN, Gene (Ellen) of Fowler and Dave (Cindy) of Grand Ledge; thirteen grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren with three more on the way. He was predeceased by a brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Catherine Messer.<\/p>\n<p>Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, December 13, 2019 at St. Paul Lutheran Church 329 N. Sorrell, Fowler with Pastor Paul Clark officiating. Interment will follow at Beech Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends 6-8 PM on Wednesday and 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Thursday at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.keckcolemanfh.com\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><font color=\"#0000CC\">Keck-Coleman Funeral Home<\/font><\/a>, St. Johns. Findlay Country Manor, St. Johns, MI.<\/p>\n<p>A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Johns, MI, on Friday, December 13, 2019 at 11:00 A.M., with Rev. Fr. Gerry graduated from Rodney B. Wilson High School with the class of 1943. On April 19, 1949 Gerry married Lawrence W. Moore at St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Johns, MI. They were blessed with 45 years of marriage prior to Larry&#8217;s death on June 23, 1994.<\/p>\n<p>Gerry loved time with her family and working in her flowers. She enjoyed camping with her family. Gerry worked for Sealed Power. In her earlier years, she also worked for A&#038;P and IGA. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.<\/p>\n<p>Gerry is survived by 6 children: Dennis Moore of St. Johns; Ardith Markman of Elsie; Rita Simpson of St. Johns; Patricia (Fernando) Rodea of Lansing; Robert Moore of St. Johns; and Marilyn (Eric) McConnell of St. Johns; and son-in-law Terry Mangles of Ovid. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren: Rebecca (Doug) Bush, Wendy Moore, Kelly (Hank) Loria, Denny Moore, Salem (Nicole) Mangles, Darrell Mangles, Ed Mangles, John Markman, Erik Markman, April (Matthew) Stephan, Amber Simpson, Jill Oglesby, Fernando Rodea, Lori Haygood, Tiffany Rodea, Jesse Moore, Kisha (Jeff) Wood, Rhonda Moore, and Kyle Moore; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, and 4 siblings: Agnes Fedewa, Blanche Woodbury, Robert Mueller, and Gerald (Marilyn) Mueller; and sister-in-law Betty Mueller.  Gerry was preceded in death by her parents, husband Larry, daughter Suzanne Mangles, 2 grandsons: Gonzelo Rodea and Chris Deneka; son-in-law John Markman, and 5 siblings: Bud (Arlene) Mueller, Charlie Mueller, Jim Mueller, Virginia (Bob) Compton, and MaryAnn Mueller.<\/p>\n<p>     The family requests donations to St. Jude Children&#8217;s Research Hospital (501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105). She was born on October 5, 1932 in Shiawassee County the daughter of Donald B. and Ruby E. (Darling) Taylor.  Betty graduated from Ovid High School with the class of 1950 and on April 7, 1951 she married Gene Pettigrew.  He passed away in 2001.  She worked for several small businesses over the years as a bookkeeper and served as Greenbush Township Clerk from 1978 to 2010.   Betty was a great pie and jam maker, loved quilting and embroidery work, but especially loved her family and grandchildren.<\/p>\n<p>Betty is survived by her children, daughter Shirley Eldridge, sons Curt (Kathy) Pettigrew, Bob (Linda) Pettigrew and daughter in law, Paula Pettigrew all of St. Johns.  She has 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Her siblings are Barbara Stewart, Lois Wadsworth, Linda White, Robert (Sharon) Taylor, Richard (Sandy) Taylor, Gordon (Kathy) Taylor, Don Taylor and Dennis (Beth) Taylor.  She was preceded in death by son Michael, son in law Kenneth Eldridge, sister, Donna Dumond and brother James Taylor.<\/p>\n<p>A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at 5:00 P.M. at the Columbian Hall (formerly the Knight of Columbus Hall) with a light dinner following. He was born on May 24, 1948 in St. Johns, Michigan to Gale and Mary Kuhns.<\/p>\n<p>He enjoyed drawing and painting and fishing with his grandchildren.<\/p>\n<p>He has one surviving brother Ernest Kuhns of Kalkaska, MI. Preceding him in death was his mother, Mary Loznak Kuhns, his father Gale Kuhns, brothers David, Kenneth and Dean and sister Barbara.<\/p>\n<p>He was buried next to his mother, Mary Kuhns, at Evergreen Cemetery in Kalkaska, Michigan.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Dona Beth Silvers<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/stjindy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/silvers_donna.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"91\" height=\"129\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-6683\" \/>Dona Beth Silvers went home to be with her Lord Friday, December 6, 2019 at the age of 73. She was born September 30, 1946 in Sheridan, MI the daughter of Donald and Bethel (Gamble) Silvers. Dona graduated from Rodney B. Wilson High School in St. Johns, Class of 1965 and was a member of First Baptist Church in St. Johns.<\/p>\n<p>Surviving is her sister, Nancy (Richard) Moldenhauer of Grand Blanc; two nephews, Richard (Jacqueline) Moldenhauer and James (Desiree) Moldenhauer and great nieces and nephews, Adelaide, Silas, Titus and Basil.<\/p>\n<p>Funeral services will be at 12:00 PM (Noon) Thursday, December 12, 2019 at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.keckcolemanfh.com\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><font color=\"#0000CC\">Keck-Coleman Funeral Home<\/font><\/a>, St. Johns with Pastor Tim Knaus officiating. Keith Slepr, age 95, of St. Johns, MI, passed away Saturday, December 7, 2019, at Sparrow Hospital, Lansing, MI.<\/p>\n<p>A Graveside Service will be held at Union Home Cemetery at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 11, 2019, with Pastor Steven Lang officiating.<\/p>\n<p>Keith was born in Duplain Township, Michigan on June 9, 1924, the son of Joseph and Grace (Case) Slepr. He graduated from Elsie High School. Keith proudly served his country during WW II in Panama.  On August 31, 1945, Keith married Margaret Grace Moore at her parents&#8217; house in Ovid Michigan. They were blessed with 65 years of marriage prior to her death on October 27, 2010.<\/p>\n<p>Keith worked for General Motors for 30 years. After retirement, Keith worked at Uncle John&#8217;s Cider Mill and Union Home Cemetery as sexton for many years. He enjoyed putting puzzles together and presented them as gifts to his family. Most of all he loved his family and time spent with them.<\/p>\n<p>Keith is survived by 3 children: Daniel and Betty Slepr of Breckenridge, MI; Dorine Horn of St. Johns, MI; and JoEllen Heidger of Ithaca, MI. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren:  David and Amy Slepr, Kathy Drew, Joel Slepr, and Mindy and Duncan Buchanan; 4 great-granchildren: Kristopher Flower, William Devitt, Lillie &#8220;Shorty&#8221; Heidger, and Alisha Heidger; great- great grandson Elijah Flower, and nieces and nephews. On October 16, 1948, Norma married Donald C. Brock in Ithaca, Michigan.  They were blessed with 55 years of marriage before Bud passed away on April 30, 2004. Norma and Bud were members of Maple Rapids Congregational Christian Church.<\/p>\n<p> Norma loved tending her flowers and garden. She enjoyed bird watching. Norma liked playing games and trips to the casino. She always looked forward to trips with her family and family gatherings. Norma loved her dogs. She worked in dietary at Carson City Hospital for over 30 years and was a member of the Red Hatters Society.<\/p>\n<p> Norma is survived by 4 children:  Kirk and Ruth Brock of St. Johns, MI; Sandra and Bobby Pugh of Maple Rapids, MI; Carol and Cruz Zamarripa of Genesee, MI; and Rodney Brock Vicki Blake of Eddyville, KY. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Michele and Eric Andrews, Scott Feldpausch, Richard Powers, Catherine Feldpausch, Kimberly and William Garland, Traci and Nick Szczochowski, Michael and Stacy Feldpausch and Beth Kincaid and William Fitzpatrick; 19 great-grandchildren and one on the way; 2 great-great granddaughters; and many nieces and nephews.
