Some friends got together and raised over $700 for Westside Walkers Relay team.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>January, 2018<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Community turns out to support Hufnagel family<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/stjindy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/1801.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"301\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6958\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The turnout at Ryan\u2019s Roadhouse on January 15 to support Jenny Hufnagel and her family was amazing. There were boxes set up to accept donations or even leave a card or note of encouragement for Jenny, Kurt, Jordan, Paige or Brian.<\/p>\n<p>Jenny Hufnagel has been courageously battling colon cancer for the past 10 years. To date $195,000 has been secured in grant funds and donations for this project.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>January, 2013<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/stjindy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/1301.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"286\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6963\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Following a successful build of its seventh construction project and first home in St. Johns in 2012, Habitat for Humanity of Clinton County recently purchased a residential parcel as part of its plan to build a second St. Johns home during the 2013 construction season.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>January, 2012<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/stjindy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/1201.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"480\" height=\"264\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6964\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Members report that there was a good turnout for the ribbon cutting ceremony at the St. Vincent de Paul Store in St. Johns on Thursday January 19. The store is located next to Sav-A-Lot in the Southpoint Mall.<\/p>\n<p>Special Guests for the ceremony were Delores Houser who served as a volunteer store manager for several years and Pat Snyder who served as a volunteer assistant store manager who continues to serve as a store volunteer and is the current Board Treasurer.<\/p>\n<p>Also on hand were Bill Asher and his wife Yvonne. Bill is our longest serving Vincentian. Bill began serving as a St. Vincent de Paul volunteer in 1954 which makes him a volunteer for over 57 years. City Manager-Dennis LaForest shared his congratulations. They were also pleased to have the Clinton County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors and the ladies with the Red Hat Society who helped them celebrate.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>January, 2011<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/stjindy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/1101.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"308\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6965\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For the past five years the local Big Boy restaurant has been assisted in the program by St. Johns Kiwanis. Members of Clinton Memorial Hospital Auxiliary are deep into preparations and ticket sales to ensure activities and entertainment of the day are even more exciting than the initial event.<\/p>\n<p>Part of that planning includes cross country skiing, snow shoeing, sledding, hiking on the golf course plus a huge bonfire. Inside the Emerald, table and card games will be joined by a hot chocolate contest and a 50\/50 raffle.
