You don\u2019t have to make it every week.<\/p>\n<p>Bring your friends. You don\u2019t have to be a member. Walker Street in St. Johns.<\/p>\n<p>Do you have a favorite green tea? Or are there too many choices and unable to decide? There are numerous variations of green teas; and we\u2019ll learn why.<\/p>\n<p>During this event, participants will discuss the tea leaf (camellia sinensis), the six processes it may or may not go through.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ll use a tea cupping process during our sensory evaluation on four different green teas.<\/p>\n<p>This gathering is limited to 12 participants. The cost is $10.<\/p>\n<p>The event will be held at the Clinton County Senior Center at 201 E Walker Street in St. Johns. Proceeds will be used to pay winter heat bills.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Romancing the Tone coming to the Wilson Center on February 22<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The quartet Romancing the Tone, consisting of Ellen Hoard, Dave Sincox, Kelly Sandula-Gruner, and Dan Templin are back for another limited engagment at the Wilson Center Auditorium.<\/p>\n<p>This year will be joined by James Geer on piano, Tess Miller on flute, Scott Harding on percussion, Jack Mumma on String Bass, Darryl Schmitz as Sound Technician, Jim Lorenz as Lighting Technician and Kelly Bitz as Usher.<\/p>\n<p>They will bring you songs of love during the month of love. Program starts at 7:00 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>This is a fundraiser for the new lighting system at the auditorium.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Briggs District Library News<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>YMCA at Briggs Library<\/em> &#8211; The Dewitt YMCA is coming to town. Come join Yeno, a certified personal trainer and fitness coach, on Wednesday afternoons for a new year of health and fun. Patrons will have the opportunity to choose from three different classes. A Balance and Stability class will be offered from 1-2. A Zumba class will be offered from 2:15- 3:15 and a Cardio Drumming class will be offered from 3:30-4:30. The cost of the classes will be $5 per session for adults and $3 for youth. Participants do have the opportunity to pay for the whole month. Registration is required for these programs. Please contact the library or the Dewitt YMCA for more details.<\/p>\n<p><em>Adulting 101<\/em> \u2013 The library is introducing a series of programs designed to showcase life skills for teens and young (and young-ish) adults. Our first Adulting program is taking place Monday, January 27 from 7:00-8:00 p.m. A representative from St. Johns Business &amp; Tax Services will be at the library to provide an overview of several personal finance topics, including filing federal and state taxes, budgeting, and saving. The information provided at this program is for informational purposes, so our presenter will not offer specific tax or financial advice. This program is designed for teens and young adults, but anyone is welcome to attend. Registration is now available.<\/p>\n<p><em>Science Lab<\/em> &#8211; Middle schoolers, grades 6-8, can join us for an afternoon of weird science on Friday, January 31 from 2:30 \u2013 3:30 p.m. Registration is required.<\/p>\n<p><em>Sip &amp; Stitch<\/em> &#8211; Bring your knitting, crochet, or other hand-stitch project to Briggs the first Tuesday of each month, starting February 4 from 11:00 a.m. \u2013 12:00 p.m. This is a chance to socialize and gather inspiration with other crafters. Registration for this program is appreciated, but not required. Tea and coffee provided.<\/p>\n<p><em>Toddler Storytime<\/em> &#8211; Children ages 2-3 (with a participating adult) are invited to join us on Wednesday mornings, 10:30-11:00, February 5- February 26, when we will read stories, move to the music, and explore our imagination with crafts. Registration is required.<\/p>\n<p><em>Coloring Club for Adults<\/em> &#8211; Relax and get creative on Wednesday evenings from 6- 7:30 p.m. beginning February 5. Use our coloring supplies or bring your own to this fun, independent program for ages 18+.<\/p>\n<p><em>Read with the Animals<\/em> &#8211; Potter Park representatives are bringing stories and animal friends to Briggs Library on Saturday, February 8 at 1:00 p.m. Registration for this program is appreciated.<\/p>\n<p><em>Seed Swap<\/em> &#8211; Abigail Harper from MSU Extension will be here on Monday, February 10 to discuss the One Seed, One State program and share the importance of saving seeds. We will also package seeds for the library\u2019s seed collection. Participants are encouraged to bring seeds from their own garden to share with others during our second annual seed swap. This program will begin at 6:00. Registration is appreciated.<\/p>\n<p><em>Lapsit Storytime<\/em> &#8211; Children ages 12 \u2013 24 months with adult participation are invited to join us for age appropriate stories, music, creative movement and simple sign language. Choose Friday mornings, 10:30 \u2013 11 from February 14 &#8211; March 20 OR Monday evenings, 6:30-7 from February 17 \u2013 March 23. It is a wonderful opportunity for children to socialize with each other. Registration is required.<\/p>\n<p><em>Chef\u2019s Surprise<\/em> &#8211; Budding chefs ages 7-10 can join us Monday, February 17, 10:30- 12:00 when we will learn to make a Presidential Breakfast. Registration is required for this program.<\/p>\n<p><em>Bookaholics Book Club<\/em> \u2013 The February selection of our adult book club is The Perfect Wife by JP Delaney. In this psychological thriller, a woman is miraculously restored to health by her husband&#8217;s technological breakthrough, but she struggles with fragmented memories of a past that differs from his accounts. We will meet to discuss the book on Thursday, February 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the library in the reading area in front of the bay window. Copies of the book are now available at the circulation desk.<\/p>\n<p><em>Babysitting Workshop<\/em> &#8211; Representatives from the Cardio Pulmonary Resource Center, Inc. will hold a babysitting workshop at the library, on Saturday, March 14 from 9:00- 3:00. The class is geared towards 11-15 year olds, and costs $30 per student. Upon completion of the class, the student will receive a Pediatric CPR card, a Basic First Aid card and a Babysitting Course certificate. Registration for this program is limited.<\/p>\n<p><em>Tales to Tails<\/em> \u2013 Ruger, a certified therapy dog will be back at the library this winter! Children ages 6-12 can sign up for a 15-minute session to practice reading aloud to Ruger on the 2nd or 4th Thursday of each month.
