While the concept for the Prayer Walk originated at Duplain Church of Christ the walk is not limited to its parish members, says Prayer Walk organizer Ron Simpson.

“We see this as a true community effort,” Simpson says, noting that flyers about the walk have been circulated at churches and other places in both the St. Johns and Ovid-Elsie areas. “We also met with school administrators from both districts and solicited their input on prayer topics, and have provided information on the Prayer Walk to the Clinton County Sheriff Department and St. Johns City Police Department.”

Simpson first learned about the idea from a booklet called “Prayer Connect” where the program was initiated in Arizona. “It grew from there to other sites around the U.S.,” he says. “Our ultimate goal is that other communities in Michigan will promote similar Prayer Walks and it will go state-wide.”

For detailed information or questions about the Prayer Walk call Simpson at (989) 224-2044.

Clinton County Democratic Party Spring Fundraiser

The Clinton County Democratic Party will hold their Spring fundraiser on Friday, May 4 at Hawk Hollow Banquet Center – Lakeview Room 15101 Chandler Road, Bath, MI.

Come celebrate the “Blue Wave” with many of your congressional, statewide and local candidates, including gubernatorial candidates Gretchen Whitmer and Abdul EI·Sayed.

Special guest Tessa Link, St. Johns H.S.
