William Marks<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>C. William \u201cBill\u201d Marks passed Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at the age of 87. He was born December 19, 1932 in Saginaw, the son of Charles Dennis and Jennie Louise (McPeck) Marks. He married the love of his life, Betty Marie Murray, in Port Huron, MI on June 28, 1952.  Bill and Betty celebrated 64 years devoted to each other before she passed on August 31, 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Surviving are three children, Ann M. Marks, Dennis and Lyn Marks, and Melanie Rae Marks; daughter-in-law, Carol (Jim) Demis; grandchildren, Steven Byrnes, Deidre Marks, Erica (Bruce) Clark, Amber Lynne Marks, Katelyn (Rev. Michael) Watson, and Erica (Aaron) Huck; great-grandchildren, Alastair, Keira and Rosalind Watson, Andrew Huck, and Lexi and Austin Clark; sister, Karen (Michael) Manial; brothers, Gerald (Sarah) Marks and Glen Marks, and 3 generations of nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by step-mother, Nona Marks Konefko; and sisters, Janet (Walter) Carlton and Kathy Austin.<\/p>\n<p>Bill was a graduate of Arthur Hill High School and Central Michigan University and completed courses at several colleges, including Bethel, Owosso Bible, Michigan State University, and University of Michigan. Bill and Betty were members of the Free Methodist Church and were dedicated to Christian service. Bill also gave spiritual mentoring to several pastors, youth, and co-founded an Owosso Christian teen center.<\/p>\n<p>Bill worked 38 years for an Owosso-based manufacturer, retiring as Operations Manager in 1994 and started his own consulting business after retirement. He enjoyed reading Louis L\u2019Amour books and watching\/collecting old movies, especially westerns. He was a history buff and theologian, possessing a quick wit and fun-loving sense of humor. His lasting legacy is as a family man, friend, mentor, teacher, and \u201cbuilder of character\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Following Bill\u2019s wishes, cremation has taken place and private services will be held. Memorials may be made to the Shiawassee Family YMCA. The family was assisted with these arrangements by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.keckcolemanfh.com\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><font color=\"#0000CC\">Keck-Coleman Funeral Home<\/font><\/a>, St. Johns.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Mary Jane Larsen<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/stjindy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/larsen_mary.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"91\" height=\"129\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-7466\" \/>Mary Jane (Beck) Larsen passed peacefully into eternal life on Friday, January 31, 2020 in Palm Bay, Florida.  Mary was born on January 10, 1935 in St. Johns, Michigan.  Mary married Robert Neil Larsen on June 22, 1958 and he predeceased her on November 22, 1976.<\/p>\n<p>Mary is survived by her son Christopher (Elaine) Larsen and grandson Andrew Larsen as well as her brother John (Carolyn) Beck and sister Donna (Patrick) McCormick and many nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n<p>Per Mary\u2019s request, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at Uncle John\u2019s Cider Mill, 8614 N US 27, St. Johns, Michigan 48879 on <strong>Sunday August 9, 2020 at 2:00 p.m.<\/strong>  The service will be officiated by Pastor Kathy Leydorf-Keck. (<em>rescheduled from Sunday, July 19, 2020<\/em>)<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>David M. Schroeder<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/stjindy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/schroeder_david.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"91\" height=\"129\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-9022\" \/>David M. Schroeder, age 80, passed away at his home on Friday, July 3, 2020.  He was born on October 23, 1939 in Lansing, MI the son of Marvin and Olga (David) Schroeder and was a graduate of Eastern High School.  On November 5, 1966 he married Susie Fernholz in Fowler, MI.<\/p>\n<p>Dave owned and operated Wieber Lumber in Fowler and was still active in the business.  He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, loved Corvettes, cats, feeding the squirrels, being active at Wieber Lumber and being with family, especially going to his grandchildren\u2019s sporting events.<\/p>\n<p>David is survived by his wife Susie, and children Tori (Jim) Steingreaber, David II(Sara) Schroeder and Kami (Aaron) Woodbury all of St. Johns and grandchildren, Jimmy(Liz), Kylie and Cassidy Steingreaber, Taylor and Logan Schroeder and Justin, Kaylee, Gracyn and Kianna Woodbury.   Special friends and neighbors, Diana Keim.and Dale and Ricci Bartlett<\/p>\n<p>The family will receive friends and relatives at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.keckcolemanfh.com\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><font color=\"#0000CC\">Keck-Coleman Funeral Home<\/font><\/a> on Tuesday, July 7, 2020, 2-4 and 6-8 P.M.  A Vigil\/Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 P.M.<\/p>\n<p>Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Fr. Michael Williams as celebrant.  Burial will follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery.  Memorials may be given to St. Joseph Education Fund or Capital Area Humane Society.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Donald V. Ott<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/stjindy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/ott_donald.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"91\" height=\"129\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-9019\" \/>Donald V. Ott was born in St. Johns, Michigan on February 29, 1924, the son of Albert T. and Lillian M. (Eisler) Ott. He graduated from Rodney B. Wilson High School in 1942 and immediately entered military service with the United States Army during World War II. He was employed and retired from Sealed Power Corporation after 35 years and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.<\/p>\n<p>Donald is survived by five children, Mark (Janet) Ott of Coldwater, Christina (Thomas) Woerdehoff of Bridgman, Daniel (Kathy) Ott of Stevensville, Jennifer Ott of St. Johns, and Albert (Pamela) Ott of Holt, as well as seven grandchildren: Laura Ott, Brian (Robin) Ott, Eric Ott, Sarah (John) Loftis, Jeffrey Ott, Heather (Shane) Moon and Emily Ott, and six great- grandchildren: Corbin and Henry Ott, Isabella and Olivia Loftis and Gunnar and Knox Moon. He was preceded in death by his wife Josetta, daughter Mary Catherine and brother, Robert. Donald and Josetta and were married for 52 years until her passing on October 29, 2001.<\/p>\n<p>His true joy in life was being with his family especially the company of his grandchildren and great- grandchildren. He was a lifelong Detroit Tiger fan and followed them through good times and bad.<\/p>\n<p>The family will celebrate Mass of Christian Burial on July 25, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Church beginning at 1:00 P.M. Rev. Fr. Michael Williams officiating.  Burial will at Mt. Rest Cemetery.<\/p>\n<p>In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the St. Joseph Education Fund, 109 Linden St., St. Johns, MI 48879 or to VFW Post 4113, PO Box 225, St. Johns, MI 48879.
