First Responders Community Paint-by-Number coming up June 12

Tracie Davis Art and Murals is honoring first responders with a mural to be painted on the fire station in downtown St. Johns.

Everyone is invited to come and paint on Sunday June 12 between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. This family friendly event is free of charge and fun for all ages and abilities. All supplies and instruction will be provided for this paint by number mural.


Special Olympics Area 28 Golf Scramble is June 18

Mark your calendars June 18, 2022 for the 26th annual Special Olympics Area 28 in Clinton County Golf Scramble at the Emerald Golf Course. Continental breakfast, 18 holes with cart, luncheon, raffles and prizes are all included for only a $75 entry fee.

Organizers are looking for golfers and sponsors to make this outing a success. The money raised helps pay for equipment, uniforms, transportation and much more. Area 28 wants to reach out and include as many children and adults with intellectual disabilities in Special Olympics as possible and safely resume activities.

All Special Olympics programs and activities are provided at no cost to the athletes and their families. There is no state or federal funding. Area 28 is run strictly by volunteers and relies upon the generosity of contributions.

Don’t forget free lunches on Tuesdays

Good News Kitchen, a ministry of St. John’s Lutheran Church, began serving free lunches on Tuesdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The St. John’s Lutheran Church is located at 511 E. Sturgis St. in St. Johns, the corner of Business 27 and Sturgis St. You may stop by and grab a free lunch to go for yourself, your family, a friend or a neighbor. Meals are free for everyone, and all are welcome to come although donations are always accepted and appreciated.

If you have questions or want to order ahead for pick up call 989-224-6796. Look for the signs and come to the west side entrance to get your free meals.


Call-in Coalition sponsoring Pride Fest June 18

The St Johns Call-in Coalition has scheduled its first event for 2022 on Higham Street between Clinton and Brush in downtown St. Johns on June 18, 2022 from 12 p.m .- 4 p.m.

As they prepare for their 2nd annual St Johns pride fest and additional community events, your support would mean the world! they are raising money for continued community education in order to create a well rounded, inclusive and healthy St Johns for you and your family.

– Live music
– Sidewalk chalk
– Community education

Briggs District Library News
Sensational Zoo coming to the Briggs June 14

Potter Park Zoo is returning to the Briggs District Library for a Sensational Zoo program on Tuesday, June 14 at 6:30 p.m.

Potter Park Zoo will be bringing animal pelts and artifacts. Visitors will earn a few fun facts while observing them up close. Representatives from the Zoo will tell everyone about the unique ways animals use their five senses to survive in the wild.
