Richard Leroy Parmenter
Richard Leroy Parmenter, age 91 of St. Johns, MI, passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor, St. Johns, MI.
Private Services will be held at a later date.
Richard was born in Shepardsville, MI on October 23, 1926, the son of Roy and Ethel (Reeb) Parmenter. He was a graduate of Ovid High School and resided all of his life in St. Johns. Richard loved sailboarding which he began in his 50s and continued into his 80s. He also loved being on the farm and caring for his cows. In his younger years he built silos with his father. He worked in Auto Body at Egan Ford in St. Johns. Richard enjoyed his trips to Horrock’s in Lansing to get the best produce. Richard will always be remembered as a very loving family man.
He is survived by his daughter Laura and Randy Schmidt of St. Johns, MI; daughter Maureen Parmenter of Warren, MI; son Daniel and Patti Parmenter of Lansing, MI; son George and Patty Sills of Laingsburg, MI; daughter Genevieve Keener of St. Johns, MI; son Wayne Parmenter of St. Johns, MI; daughter-in-law Sandy Sills of Lansing, MI; daughter-in-law Jodi Parmenter of Ovid, MI; 24 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, wife Josephine, son James Sills, daughter Josephine Squibb, son Richard Parmenter II, granddaughter Tameshia Squibb; sister Hilda Graham, and brothers: George and Donald Parmenter.

Duane Edward Mussell
Duane Edward Mussell, age 83 of Pewamo, MI, passed away Monday, September 24, 2018, at Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor, St. Johns, MI.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fowler, MI on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at 10:30 A.M., with Rev. Fr. Dennis Howard officiating. Burial will take place at Most Holy Trinity Cemetery, Fowler, MI. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes – Goerge Chapel, Fowler, MI. A Rosary will be prayed Wednesday at 7:00 P.M.
Duane was born in Farwell, MI on March 12, 1935, the son of David Edward and Mary Lucille (Dickerson) Mussell. Duane married Diane Theis on October 19, 1985 in Fowler. Duane was an avid MSU and Fowler sports fan. He enjoyed hunting, camping and gardening. Spending time with his family was very important to him. Duane retired from General Motors. He was a member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church Fowler, MI, and resided most of his life in Fowler.
He is survived by his wife Diane Mussell, of Pewamo, MI; daughter Lorie and George Dowler of Springport, MI; son Randy Mussell and Deanna Zdunic of Holt, MI; daughter Melissa Zimmerman of Holt, MI; step-son Randy and Heather Theis of Fowler, MI; step-son Chad Theis of Denver, CO; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sister Donna Murphy of Clare, MI; brother Ellis and Theresa Mussell of Mason, MI; brother Donald and Mary Ann Mussell of Lake, MI; brother Terry and Mary Jo Mussell of Holt, MI; and sister Sharon Brown of Eugene, OR. Duane was preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law Jeff Zimmerman, sister-in-law Barb Mussell, and brother-in-law James Murphy.
