For breast cancer patients/survivors
Sparrow Clinton Hospital and the Sparrow Cancer Center offer a 10-week exercise program created specifically for breast cancer survivors.
Healthy Steps is a therapeutic exercise program for women who have had breast surgery, node dissection, radiation or chemotherapy. The program is designed to help breast cancer survivors enjoy better quality of life.
The Healthy Steps program is smooth and slow, featuring resistant movements that are gentle and easy to complete. It can be done sitting or standing. No dance experience or coordination is required, and survivors of any age and any fitness levels are welcome.
Healthy Steps can benefit participants by helping them:

· Work with balance issues, both physical and emotional
· Reduce the risk of lymphedema
· Reduce swelling from lymphedema
· Decrease depression
· Promote a positive self-image
