For Larry Houghton it was airplanes and the prospect of flying.
That passion for planes is vividly captured in the debut book by the St. Johns area resident, “Flight Log.” Houghton’s colorful description of his childhood fascination with the world of aviation and the thrill of learning to fly as an adult will delight airplane enthusiasts – and non-flyers as well.

Houghton’s background includes a four-year stint in the Navy, a career in electronics engineering and management, operating a Michigan resort, and insurance and investment sales. He has also published numerous technical and historical articles in magazines, as well as feature articles for local news publications.
Retirement has opened up opportunities for Houghton to pursue his many creative endeavors like writing, watercolor painting and photography.
