Flight Log is ready for holiday gift giving
Children fall in love with a variety of things that capture their attention – dinosaurs, horses, building blocks, video games.
For Larry Houghton it was airplanes and the prospect of flying.

That passion for planes is vividly captured in the debut book by the St. Johns area resident, “Flight Log.” Houghton’s colorful description of his childhood fascination with the world of aviation and the thrill of learning to fly as an adult will delight airplane enthusiasts – and non-flyers as well.
Teenagers and adults who wonder what it would be like to fly a plane will find the author’s explanation of training both exciting and understandable, and pilots will enjoy re-living some of their own early training experiences.
Houghton’s background includes a four-year stint in the Navy, a career in electronics engineering and management, operating a Michigan resort, and insurance and investment sales. He has also published numerous technical and historical articles in magazines, as well as feature articles for local news publications.
Retirement has opened up opportunities for Houghton to pursue his many creative endeavors like writing, watercolor painting and photography.
“Flight Log” is available at amazon.com and lulu.com; cost is $12.50 plus shipping and handling. For information email Houghton at shiloh@casir.net.
