Jean Chabut, Chief Administrative Officer for the Michigan Department of Community Health, presented the Mid-Michigan District Health Department (MMDHD) with its Certificate of Accreditation at a recent Mid-Michigan District Board of Health meeting.
“MMDHD is a stellar health department that provides much-needed services to the residents of the district,” said Chabut. “This accreditation certificate is richly deserved.”
The accreditation process takes place every three years, and involves an extensive on-site review process conducted by representatives from the Michigan Departments of Agriculture, Community Health, and Environmental Quality.

Chabut also presented the agency with a Certificate of Quality, in recognition for its voluntary quality improvement efforts. “Here again, not only is MMDHD one of the leaders of the pack, they are in pursuit of staying there,” Chabut said.
Kim Singh, Health Officer for MMDHD, acknowledged the hard work and dedication of health department staff in successfully meeting the accreditation standards and going above and beyond in completing the Quality Improvement Supplement. She also went on to say being fully accredited assures the residents of the district that the health department meets established standards.
