March 11, 12 and 13
Mark Twain said, “Everybody talks about the weather but nobody does anything about it.” Well, Homegrown Productions is doing something about the weather! It’s time to bust the wintertime blues with a little singing, a little dancing and a lot of laughs.
Although the original plan was to produce the musical “The Fantasticks” in March, Homegrown Productions partners Beth Webb and Susan DeRosa decided to replace that with an invitation to the community to participate in a variety show. “If you liked A St. Johns Home Companion or if you ever participated in Clinton Capers, you’ll love being part of ‘Doing Something About the Weather’,” said DeRosa.
The show is scheduled for March 11, 12 and 13 at the Rodney B. Wilson Auditorium. The kick off information session for “Doing Something About the Weather” is 7 pm Tuesday, February 15 at the Wilson Center Auditorium, 101 W. Cass St. in St. Johns. For more information, call DeRosa at 517-651-2949 or Webb at 989--224--8982.
As with other Homegrown Productions projects, proceeds from the show will go toward renovation of the auditorium.
“We now have a new color scheme, comfortable seating and have added sound equipment. The next step is to improve the stage lighting,” said Beth Webb, who co--chairs the Wilson Auditorium Renovation Committee with her husband Tom Webb.
