Habitat for Humanity gears up

May 21 Blessing of the Bikers
Habitat for Humanity of Clinton County invites mid-Michigan motorcycle enthusiasts to twist the throttle Saturday, May 21, with a Blessing of the Bikers at Motz County Park in St. Johns.
This fully customized Habitat fundraiser offers a charity ride, motorcycle show, live band, door prizes, lunch on the grill and commemorative T-shirts. The 3-hour open event kick starts at 10 am with support from Road Riders for Jesus and Wild Hogettes.
Flex some heavy metal muscle by entering your sweet ride in the Habitat motorcycle show. Bikers register their rides between 9:45 to 11:15am for a $10 donation. Hammer in Hand Custom Cycles fired up the torches to design one-of-a-kind trophies made of motorcycle parts for the top three winners.
Gear up with a ride-rocking commemorative T-shirt, sporting original art created by Laura Bishop of St. Johns Locale. Anybody can own this custom chopper for a $15 donation while supplies last.
Tank up on site with lunch on the grill – hot dogs, chips and drinks – for a $5 donation.
Free door prize drawings cruise along every half hour from 10:30am to 12:30pm. Prizes include $25 gas cards and a grand prize family/motorcycle portrait package from Image Projections valued at $400.
The roar of life-saving loud pipes won’t be the only music in the wind as a live band performs throughout the event.
Blessing of the Bikers redlines at 12:30 pm, officiated by Pastor Tyler Barlage of Community Christian Church in St. Johns. Newly blessed riders saddle up by 1pm and set their own pace, heading home or donating $15 to follow the Charity Ride route.
Habitat’s May 21 Blessing of the Bikers is fueled by Bentley Motorcycle Service LLC, DeWitt Service Center, Hammer in Hand Custom Cycles, Image Projections, Pauli Ford, Ryan’s Roadhouse, Sparrow Clinton Hospital, Spartan Electric and St. Johns Locale.
All event proceeds benefit Habitat for Humanity of Clinton County. Motz County Park at 4630 N. DeWitt Road in St. Johns is fully paved and handicap accessible.
