Sparrow Clinton Hospital has rallied dozens of community organizations and businesses to organize the Clinton Family Fit Fest. This free, fun-filled expo offers elementary-age children, their siblings and parents practical, take-home solutions for better nutrition and increased physical activity.
Clinton Family Fit Fest attendees learn about nutrition through fun, hands-on preparation of healthy foods designed to encourage better meal and snack choices. Children experience simple physical activities focused on active play as part of their daily routine as well as learn about locally available, affordable activities and programs. In addition, a series of 15-minute classes allows kids to try a variety of new challenges, such as hip hop dance, karate, jump rope, karate and outdoor activities.
The Clinton Family Fit Fest has been recognized as a quality physical activity event by the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness. The Governor’s Council endorses local, regional and state events to acknowledge an organization’s ability to plan and carry out a quality event that significantly contributes to the health and well-being of Michigan residents.
