PEEK for children from 1 to 5 years of age
The St Johns Lions and Lioness Clubs have partnered with a group of local vision professional and with the Lions clubs of Michigans KIDSIGHT program to start a PEEK program ( Preventative Eye Examination for Kids ).
This is a pro-active vision screening program using advanced computer technology designed to provide early identification of vision problems in children from 1 to 5 years old. Available data indicates that one out of every twenty children between the age of 1 to 5 has an eye problem could permanently affect the childs vision if untreated. This vision screening program is offered free of charge, and if a problem is indicated, the childs parents are referred to a vision professional of their choice.
This PEEK/KIDSIGHT vision screening program has started screening preschoolers and toddlers in Clinton County. In the enclosed picture, St Johns Lions club member F. Dale Kuenzli is screening the vision of a toddler from the St Johns Wilson Center Little Wings Day Care Program.
