This comes from Bonnie Myers:
I am responding to the Mystery Photo (Where is This?). I believe it is currently Unique Reflections at 223 N. Clinton Ave. From 1951-1976, my father, Ray Eisler, owned the store and it was called Eisler’s Superette. The brick is unmistakable and I spent a lot of time there as a child. I hope this is right! 🙂
Barry says, “Well almost. Eisler’s was the next store north on the corner of Higham and Clinton Ave.” [see photo below]
The Mystery location was listed as Bert W. Glaspie’s wall paper and dry goods store in the mid-1920s. It was also Giles Gibbs’ grocery store but the date is missing.
In the 50s and 60s it was Glaspie’s Drug store and Hobby Lobby was there for a time. Most recently it was the Treasure Chest Hallmark store, but today it’s home to Heather’s Dance Company.
