Coupon Class and more
March was Reading Month and Pigeon, Piggie, Gerald and other Mo Willems characters provided lots of laughs and fun. Congratulations to Logan Nobach who was the prize winner for March is Reading Month.
All children who returned completed logs earned a certificate, a poster and a free hot dog coupon from Shaggie’s; thank you Shaggies!
Also the library earned close to $400.00 in books at the Usborne Book Fair. Thanks to Brenda Miller, Usborne Representative for her time and great products and our patrons who purchased items, we appreciate your support.

Get Connected at the Briggs
Briggs Public Library will once again be offering free beginner’s computer classes to our adult patrons. The two-part class is designed for patrons with little to no computer experience and will cover a variety of topics, including basic computer terms, correct use of the keyboard and mouse, an introduction to Windows 7 and Microsoft Word, tips on using the Internet to effectively find information, and the use of the Briggs Library website and online card catalog.
These classes will take place on Wednesday, May 9th and Wednesday, May 16th beginning at 9am and lasting 60 to 90 minutes. Registration for this free program is required for all adult patrons with a valid library card.
Back by demand: Cards for a Cause fund raiser
It’s not cookie dough, it’s not wrapping paper, it’s not pizzas, it’s greeting cards! Money earned with our “Cards for a Cause Fund Raiser” will be used to support youth and adult audio, our new Literacy Station in the juvenile area and Ellison Die storage units.
You can purchase either 30 handcrafted and novelty cards for kids with matching envelopes and funky stickers or 30 handmade all occasion greeting cards with envelopes, both in keepsake boxes. The boxes are $30.00 each with the library receiving a cash return on the sales of each box sold.
With cards purchased at the stores at $4.00 or more this is a great deal at $1.00 each. These cards are very attractive and of high quality. They also make a practical gift along with a book of stamps! Save money now and time later, have cards on hand for every occasion.
Please stop in and see what they look like and place an order to help the library. The fundraiser will run through the month of April.
